History of Siam Paragon Shopping Mall, Bangkok:

Opened in 2005, the Siam Paragon is still one of the largest shopping mall in Asia that contains a large number of stores of numerous attractive items and essentials. There are about 15 theatre hall located in the shopping mall and one of them is the largest one with a giant screen in the Asian subcontinent. The largest aquarium of the Asia is also located at the Siam Paragon shopping mall. The shopping mall attracts large crowds every day. Shoppers around the world visit the mall, shop, stroll and enjoy the theater or take food at the food courts. Before the building of the Siam Paragon shopping mall, the land was the address for the Siam Intercontinental Hotel. In 2002, the Siam Intercontinental Hotel was razed down as the lease period was over. It was leased for 30 years and the land was once the property of Srapatrum Palace which used that as a royal park.

The Siam Paragon was finished in hurried manner and even the workers were found concluding their tasks even in the opening day of the mall in 2005. The Siam Paragon was finished amid so rush that some of the ceilings were unpainted, the floor tiles were creaked and maladjusted. The Siam Paragon covers an area of 13 acres and about US$ 450 million were spent to build the gigantic building structure. The structure was designed in such way that it is accessible from the skytrain station directly. Moistly the mall invites the people of elite class across the Thailand and around the Globe, and common items are also available here.

Riding off from the skytrain, you need walk a few steps to enter the Siam Paragon shopping mall. You can also reach the mall by car or taxicab services. Tuk tuk is also available in the district to take you there. If you are on subway, take the exit 3 and 5 to get out of the station.

The Siam Paragon is place where you can park your own car without worrying for that in its parking ground which can accommodate over 3500 cars. There is a five-star hotel at the rear side of the mall for your luxurious stay. Bowling and karaoke facilities are also available in the mall. You can recline on the theatre seats upon your need or wish.

The Siam Paragon shopping mall houses over 200 shops and stores selling a large number of necessary and luxury items. Even there is a Lamborghini outlet at the mall. Besides, there are departmental stores selling different luxurious items, book stores selling rare and pricy books. Moreover, international brand products are also available in the mall. The gourmet market sells foods and food items including traditional and international. The Royal Paragon Hall is able to seat about 5000 people at a time for events like concerts and musical events. Mostly the Siam Paragon is visited for luxurious goods in Thailand, but people also visit the mall for their daily necessaries as well.

By BTS Skytrain:

Siam is serviced by several BTS Skytrain stations. BTS Siam – the main interchange station for the Sukhumvit and Silom lines – is located outside Siam Paragon. BTS Phloen Chit and Chit Lom are located in Ratchaprasong, while BTS National Stadium is opposite the MBK Centre.

By Khlong Boat:

Ratchaprasong is accessible by the Saen Saep Express Boat, although many of the piers are a short walk from its main shopping malls. Disembark at Pratunam or Chit Lom pier and you’ll be able to reach Central World or Siam Paragon within 10 minutes.
