Banyan Tree Samui is an 88-villa resort at 99/9 Moo 4, Maret, on a private bay near Lamai on the east coast of Koh Samui, Thailand. It opened in 2009, and every villa has its own pool. The steep hillside layout makes it best for couples and adults; families with children under 12 can stay but must sign a waiver.
The Stone Turtle Cape viewpoint is 690 m from the resort and Silver Beach (Ao Thong Takhian) 750 m. Lamai Beach is about three minutes by car and Chaweng about nine. Samui Top Gun is 840 m away, Saman Muay Thai 1.3 km and the Lamai Golden Swing viewpoint 1.8 km. Crystal Beach is 2.1 km. Samui International Airport (USM) is about 17 km by road, around 27 minutes. Parking and valet are free.
The villas climb the slope above the bay, many with sea views, and buggies carry guests between them. Each has a private pool of about 35 sqm. Deluxe, Partial Ocean View, Ocean View and Horizon Hillcrest Pool Villas measure 130 sqm. Royal Banyan and Wellbeing Sanctuary villas reach 155 sqm and add a heated outdoor jacuzzi. Two-bedroom family villas are 169 sqm, and the single Presidential Pool Villa covers 316 sqm.
The Edge serves the breakfast buffet, with Western, Asian and American dishes. It costs THB 1,300 per adult and child aged 11 to 17 and THB 650 for children 10 and under when not included in the rate. Hours are 6:00 to 11:00 AM on weekdays and until 11:30 AM at weekends. Saffron serves Thai cuisine, Sands sits by the beach, and there is a pool bar, a beach bar, a lobby lounge and in-villa dining.
The spa has 10 treatment pavilions and a Rainforest hydrotherapy circuit with a heated hydropool, sauna and steam room. On the bay, guests can snorkel, windsurf and play beach volleyball. A main pool with a children's wading pool, a gym, yoga sessions and a library are also on site.
