Cinnamon Wild Yala is a four-star safari lodge of 68 chalets near Palatupana and Kirinda, on the edge of Yala National Park on Sri Lanka's south-east coast. Monkeys, buffalo and other wild animals walk through the grounds. It suits families and wildlife watchers planning game drives into Yala.
Jungle Chalets sit in the scrub forest and come with a king bed or twin beds. Beach Chalets have a king bed and are closer to the shore. Each chalet is non-smoking, with air conditioning, a minibar, a private bathroom with shower and free Wi-Fi.
Fees may apply for children using existing beds, and extra bed and crib rules depend on the chalet.
Because animals move freely through the property, staff walk guests to and from their chalets before 6:30 AM and after 6:30 PM. Call reception when you want to go out in the dark.
Meals are served at Tuskers and Pugmarks. The buffet breakfast runs from 7:30 AM to 9:30 AM, early enough to fit around morning safaris, and costs about USD 20 per adult when not included.
