Kumarakom Lake Resort is a five-star resort in Kumarakom North, in Kerala's Kottayam district, about 250 m from Vembanad Lake. It opened in 2000 and is laid out like a traditional Kerala village across 25 acres on the banks of Vembanad Lake, with heritage-style villas and pavilions among gardens and canals. Luxury Pavilion rooms sit in the gardens. Meandering Pool Villas have sit-outs that open straight onto a long winding pool. Heritage Villas come with a private plunge pool and Jacuzzi in their own courtyard, and the Heritage Lake View Villas add views over the water. Presidential suites and traditional houseboats with one to four bedrooms complete the range.

A buffet breakfast is included. Ettukettu, the speciality restaurant, seats 115 in an eight-sided mansion and serves several cuisines. The Pool Pavilion has a handful of tables beside the infinity pool at the lake's edge, so book ahead. Vembanad, the seafood bar, is the place for fish at sunset, and Thattukada recreates an old Kerala roadside tea shop. There is also a bar and a poolside bar.
Ayurmana, the resort's Ayurveda centre, offers traditional Kerala treatments, and yoga sessions and a free gym are available. There are two outdoor pools and a children's pool.
The Bay Island Driftwood Museum is about 630 m away and St. Luke's Lake Gardens about 1.3 km. Kumarakom Bird Sanctuary is about 1.7 km, a short boat ride from the resort, with cormorants, egrets and herons and migratory birds such as Siberian storks. Marari Beach is about 28.5 km by road.
