Reached only by boat from the Nong Nuch pier, Rayavadee sits between Railay and Phranang beaches at the tip of Krabi's peninsula. It is a secluded choice for couples and families, with four restaurants including The Grotto under the cliffs, a spa and private-pool pavilions. Rooms start at US$495.
Rayavadee is a five-star resort at the tip of the Phranang Peninsula in Krabi, southern Thailand, inside the edge of Krabi Marine National Park. Limestone cliffs and coconut groves frame three beaches, and the resort can be reached only by boat, so it suits couples and families who want a secluded beach stay with good food and island trips.
Fly into Krabi International Airport, 18.7 km away. The resort's car takes about 20 minutes to its pier at Nong Nuch, and a boat covers the last 20 minutes. From Phuket Airport the drive to the pier takes 3.5 to 4 hours. If you booked through an online agent, email your arrival and departure times to reservations at least 48 hours ahead so the transfer can be set up.
Once there, Princess Cave (Phra Nang) is 100 m from the grounds, the East Railay Viewpoint trail starts 110 m away, the Emerald Lagoon is 210 m and East Railay Bay Beach 300 m. Railay and Phranang beaches are a few minutes' walk.
The 94 round, two-storey pavilions and 7 villas are spread through gardens laid out like a southern Thai village. Deluxe Pavilions (90 sqm) are the most common. Terrace and Pool Pavilions measure 115 sqm, and the Pool Pavilion adds a 3 x 8 m private pool. Family Pavilions have a ground-floor bedroom with two queen beds. Villas, from the beachside Raitalay Villa to the three-bedroom Phranang Villas, come with a butler.
Raya Dining serves international food and the buffet breakfast, with American and Asian dishes. Krua Phranang serves Thai dinners by Phranang Beach. Raitalay Terrace, beside the free-form pool, covers Asian and Indochinese cooking, and The Grotto sits under the cliffs on the beach.
The resort's own speedboats run trips to Phi Phi, about 35 minutes away, and to Poda, Chicken, Tub and Hong islands. The water sports centre lends sea canoes and gear for snorkelling and windsurfing. Cooking classes, batik printing and fruit carving fill quieter afternoons. Rayavadee Spa offers Thai-inspired massages, facials, scrubs, wraps and salon services, and the fitness room beside the tennis courts is open 24 hours.
Refurbishment in 2026 closed the main pool and Raitalay Terrace from 31 August to 20 October and the tennis court from 1 September to 31 October. Both closure periods have now ended, and in November 2026 the resort's website no longer listed any pool notice, but ask the resort to confirm before you travel. A new pool at the Nam Mao Lawn is open.
