Thailand Tourist Visa from Bangladesh
About the Thailand Tourist Visa from Bangladesh
Bangladeshi passport holders apply for the Thai Tourist Visa (TR) online, on the official e-Visa website. A single-entry visa costs BDT 4,500 and the Royal Thai Embassy in Dhaka takes about 7 working days to decide, so apply at least two weeks before your flight.
A Thai tourist visa from Bangladesh is now applied for online at thaievisa.go.th rather than over a counter. You create an account, fill in the form, upload scans of your documents and pay the fee in taka through one of the two banks the Royal Thai Embassy in Dhaka works with. The embassy reviews the file and sends the e-Visa confirmation by email.
The Tourist Visa (TR) covers holidays and medical treatment in Thailand. The single-entry visa is valid for 3 months from the date of issue and allows a stay of up to 60 days, which can be extended once by 30 days. If you will visit Thailand several times in a few months, the multiple-entry version (METV) is valid for 6 months and costs BDT 22,500.
The payment rules are strict. The amount you pay must match the Payment Information Summary (PIS) exactly, split payments are not accepted, and fees are not refunded. The embassy also expects to see a healthy bank balance: at least BDT 60,000 per person, or BDT 120,000 for a family, on a six-month statement with a solvency letter.
