The Oberoi Beach Resort, Lombok is a five-star resort of 50 pavilions and villas on Medana Beach in Tanjung, on the quiet north-west coast of Lombok in West Nusa Tenggara. It opened in 1997 and looks across the water towards the Gili islands. Couples, divers and travellers who want a remote beach with its own jetty stay here.
Luxury Pavilions are about 90 m², with a four-poster king bed and a garden or ocean outlook. The villas are walled compounds with an open-air living area. Villas with a private pool reach about 255 m², and the two-bedroom ocean-view villa with its own pool covers about 375 m². Rooms have air conditioning, a minibar and free Wi-Fi.
Fees apply for children using existing beds, and childcare can be arranged for a charge.
Breakfast is a set menu served from 7:00 AM to 11:00 AM and costs about USD 38 per person when not in the rate. Sunbird Cafe, open-air with an outdoor kitchen, cooks Indonesian, Indian and Western dishes. Lumbung, a thatched open-sided restaurant with garden and ocean views, serves Indonesian and international dinners and hosts special dining nights. On some evenings The Amphitheatre holds candlelit dinners with Sasak music and dance, the traditional performance of Lombok's Sasak people. Tokek Bar pours cocktails, wine and Lombok coffee with tapas, and room service is available.
The resort runs its own PADI dive centre for diving and snorkelling trips, and the jetty is about 340 m away. The Beach Club lends snorkelling gear, sea kayaks and paddle boards free of charge, and the dive team runs guided half-day snorkelling trips to one of the Gili islands, about 15 to 20 minutes away by boat. Yoga and excursions round out the activities, including trips towards Mount Rinjani. On land there is an infinity pool, a spa with massage, body care and a salon, a free gym and a tennis court.
Lombok International Airport (LOP) is 66 km away, about 1 hour 45 minutes by car, and the resort arranges transfers for a fee. Pura Medana temple is about 420 m away, and Lombok Wildlife Park about 5.5 km. Parking and valet parking are free.
Check-in is from 2:00 PM and check-out is by 12:00 PM, with a 24-hour front desk. A deposit is taken at check-in by cash or card and refunded the day you leave. Pets are not allowed.
The resort covers about 24 acres of gardens along Medana Beach, and on clear days you can see Mount Agung on Bali across the strait. Sunset dinners on the beach and sunset cruises are the evening rituals here. The resort holds weddings for up to 50 guests and has a meeting room for 60. It appears on the MICHELIN Guide hotel list for 2026, and Condé Nast Traveller UK readers ranked it third among resorts in Indonesia in 2024.
