Hôtel Fabric is a four-star, 33-room boutique hotel in a former textile factory at 31 Rue de la Folie Méricourt, in the Oberkampf quarter of the 11th arrondissement of Paris. It sits between Place de la République and Place de la Bastille and suits couples, friends and small families who want a lively neighbourhood with bars and restaurants close by.
Saint-Ambroise metro is about three minutes' walk and Parmentier about four. The Marais, the Picasso Museum and Père-Lachaise cemetery are all easy to reach. Paris Orly Airport is 16.3 km away and Charles de Gaulle 27 km. The hotel has no car park; paid private parking is available nearby.
The 33 rooms are spread over four floors and decorated in an industrial-chic style that nods to the building's past. Compact Club Rooms are on the ground floor. Superior Double and Superior Triple Rooms come next, then Deluxe Rooms with a sofa bed. Top Floor Duplex Rooms sleep four, which makes them the pick for families. Every room has air conditioning, double glazing, a flat-screen TV, a minibar, a safe, free Wi-Fi and an en-suite bathroom with a rain shower and L'Occitane toiletries.
A buffet breakfast is served every morning. Through the day, tea, coffee and cakes are set out in the lounge next to an honesty bar.
The hammam is booked for private sessions. A fitness room is available, and Payot treatments and massages can be reserved.
The building was a textile workshop in the 19th century, and the huge windows and brick walls are most of what remains of it. The renovation added sturdy industrial light fittings and old furniture, and the rooms have a wood finish with a loft feel and flea-market objects. The lobby doubles as the breakfast room. Reception lends guests an iPad, and a personal trainer can be booked for a session in the fitness room.
