In short

ICONSIAM is a large riverside mall on the west bank of the Chao Phraya in Bangkok's Khlong San district, opened in November 2018, known for its indoor floating market, river park and views across the water to the old city. Entry is free. Shoppers and diners usually spend two to four hours.

ICONSIAM stands on the west bank of the Chao Phraya River in the Khlong San district of Bangkok. It is a mixed-use development of a shopping mall, hotels and residences, built jointly by Siam Piwat, Magnolia Quality Development Corporation and the Charoen Pokphand Group at a cost of about 54 billion baht.

The mall opened to the public on 9 November 2018. The development includes the Magnolia Waterfront Residences, about 318 metres high with 70 floors and among the tallest buildings in Thailand, and the Mandarin Oriental Residences.

Inside, SookSiam on the ground floor recreates an indoor floating market with food and crafts from Thailand's regions. Upper floors hold international and luxury brands, the Siam Takashimaya department store, restaurants and a cinema. The River Park outside hosts events and a long fountain show in the evenings.

Entry is free. The Gold Line skytrain stops at Charoen Nakhon station next to the mall, and free shuttle boats run across the river from Sathorn Pier near Saphan Taksin BTS station.

The retail floors cover about 525,000 square metres, which is why a full loop takes most of an afternoon. The riverside park in front stretches over more than 10,000 square metres with a walkway along the Chao Phraya, and it is the best place to watch the evening fountain show and the river traffic.

The development has kept growing. The ICS building next door opened on 11 January 2023 and houses the 244-room Millennium Hilton Bangkok. Of the two residential towers, Magnolia Waterfront Residences has 300 units over 70 floors, and The Residences at Mandarin Oriental reach 272 metres with 52 floors and 146 units. The mall also has an Apple Store.
