Modern Indian tasting menus inside The Lodhi hotel in New Delhi, the restaurant that since 2009 has done most to present Indian food this way. Expect a polished fine-dining meal and a deposit when you book.

Indian Accent is a modern Indian fine dining restaurant inside The Lodhi hotel on Lodhi Road, New Delhi. Since opening in 2009 it has done more than any other restaurant to present Indian food as a creative tasting menu. It suits diners who want a polished, unhurried meal and are willing to pay a deposit when they book.

The Lodhi is in central New Delhi, close to Lodhi Garden and Humayun's Tomb. JLN Stadium is the nearest metro station, though most guests come by taxi. The dining room is calm and formal, with attentive service.

Executive chef Shantanu Mehrotra leads the kitchen. The cooking starts from classic Indian dishes and flavours and serves them with European plating and technique. World's 50 Best has picked out the small flatbreads served with traditional chutney, crisp cornets with spiced fillings, and tamarind crab with coconut curry. You can order à la carte at lunch and dinner, or choose the Chef's Tasting menu, offered in vegetarian and non-vegetarian versions with an optional wine pairing. A full tasting dinner takes more than two hours.

Indian Accent was No. 46 on Asia's 50 Best Restaurants 2025. The brand also runs restaurants in Mumbai and New York, but Delhi is the original. In 2025 tasting menus started at about US$50 per person before drinks and taxes, and à la carte meals averaged less.

Dinner is served every day from 19:00, running to 22:30 on Friday and Saturday. Lunch starts at 12:00, or 11:30 at weekends, though guides disagree on which days it is served, so confirm when you book. Reservations go through the restaurant by phone (+91 98711 17968) or email, and a per-person deposit is taken at booking; a 2022 report put it at INR 1,000. The dress code is smart casual, and given how dressy the room is, smart is the safer choice.

Dinner needs several days' notice. Lunch is easier to secure, and the hotel gardens look their best in daylight.

Manish Mehrotra, the chef who built Indian Accent's reputation, left in 2024 and opened his own restaurant, Nisaba, at the Humayun's Tomb museum complex in January 2026. World's 50 Best recommends the six-course tasting menu with wine pairing as the best introduction and gives an average spend of about US$35 per person.
