Kathmandu Valley and Nagarkot, 5 Days
Kathmandu Valley and Nagarkot, 5 Days is a 5-day, 4-night package that stays in Kathmandu and Nagarkot. It is run by Karnafully Travel Inc. Prices start at $390.00 per person on twin sharing.
Kathmandu Valley and Nagarkot is a compact first visit to Nepal for travellers who want its living temples, royal squares and a glimpse of the Himalaya without trekking. Groups range from 2 to 16, and flights are arranged separately, which gives flexibility on dates and fares.
Most nights are in Kathmandu, with day visits to the three old royal cities of the valley and its great stupas, six of the seven UNESCO monument zones in all. The final night moves up to Nagarkot on the valley rim for sunset and, on a clear morning, a sunrise view of the peaks with Everest a small point on the far horizon. The pace suits most ages, with walking through squares and markets but no hard climbs. At Pashupatinath only Hindus may enter the main temple, though the ghats and courtyards are open to all. Pokhara or Chitwan can be added on request for travellers who want more time in Nepal.
