Built in 1983 with its three floors, the Aventura Mall is the third largest shopping mall in the entire United States of America that is covering an area of over 2, 500, 000 square feet. There are over 300 retail shops and a food court inside the mall. The mall is named after its location – Aventura which is a Miami suburb in Florida. It is a desired destination for many fashion loving men and women. Globally renowned brands have opened their Miami wings at the mall.  

Opened in April of 1983, the architecture of the Aventura Mall is influenced largely by Spanish styles and gained the title of being the first three-story structure in Florida. The mall underwent a major renovation in 1996 and adjoined a theatre hall and two three-storied parking garages during the process.

The mall is a large house of fashion and fashion accessories of contemporary collection. A good number of local and international brands have opened their retail branches at the mall.

There are 16 eateries and restaurants at the mall that offer you different sorts of foods including snacks and heavy meals. The mall also organizes different exciting events round the year to entertain the travelers and guests visiting the mall. Among the celebrations, notable are – Adopt a Pet, Chocolate Festival, Farmers Market etc.  

Speaking of restaurants, while you’re there, you can fill up on gourmet BBQ at International Smoke, inventive sushi rolls at Pubbelly Sushi, pizza at Genuine Pizza or healthy treats at Pura Vida. 1. The smell. Anyone who walked in and breathed deeply could appreciate the mix of food aromas that made deciding on dinner so difficult. How can we describe it? Well, it was a mix of meat, cheese, beans, stir fry, French fries, burritos.

2. The variety. See smell above. The food court dished out the fancy: salmon platters and rib baskets. And the not so fancy: fried rice, bourbon chicken, burgers.

3. The birds. They entered through the automatic doors and flew among the rafters and hopped from table to table looking for crumbs.

4. The family bathroom. Any parent knew that these do-it-all loos were perfect for any situation: toddler daughter with dad, young son with mom, overflowing diaper, sudden gas after a food-court meal.

5. The free samples. A stroll around the perimeter of the food court to look at the offerings would trigger one of the cashiers sticking a tooth-picked meat sample in your face. “Try it!” We did. Again. And again.

6. The maitre d’. Yes, you read that right. For years, Gino Gaetano helped tidy up the place and guided customers to open seats, not to mention play a piano. He always wore a suit jacket and tie.

7. The neon. The Treats sign. The restaurant signs. It was our own mini-Vegas of victuals.

Usually the mall remains closed for a half-day on Sundays and functions from 10am until 9.30pm from Monday to Saturday. Finding the mall is so much easier and you can reach here using different types of vehicles. If you are a traveler, the best way is to hire a taxi towards the mall. Make sure the taxi meter is on. Or if you are on your own car, use the parking space to park the car during the shopping hours.
