The best hotel in Cox's Bazar, Bangladesh for 2026 is Sayeman Beach Resort on Marine Drive at Kolatoli, with an infinity pool over the Bay of Bengal; families do better at the Royal Tulip Sea Pearl Beach Resort & Spa at Inani, with its adjoining water park. The best hotels and resorts fall into three zones along the shore: the Hotel Motel Zone and Kolatoli in town, a newer strip of beachfront towers on Marine Drive, and the quieter resorts further south at Himchari, Pechar Dwip and Inani. Where you sleep decides your trip more than the hotel's star rating does. Town hotels put you a short walk from Laboni and Sugandha points and the restaurants; the southern resorts give you emptier sand and sea views, at the cost of a drive for every meal out.

This guide is part of our wider guide to the best resorts near Dhaka.

This guide compares sixteen hotels and resorts we can recommend for 2026, from Sayeman Beach Resort and the Royal Tulip at Inani to good-value mid-range towers and the government-run Hotel Shaibal. Each entry gives the location, the rate band seen on booking sites, the facilities that matter and the honest drawbacks. For the region as a whole, start with our Cox's Bazar destination page; for beach stays elsewhere in the country, see our guide to beach hotels in Bangladesh.

How we chose and priced these hotels: We shortlisted properties that guests rate consistently well across several booking platforms and that have a clear reason to book them: beach access, a pool, a quiet location or genuine value. Starting rates were checked on major booking sites in October 2026 for a one-night stay in the cheapest room and are shown in US dollars; they swing widely between weekdays, weekends and Bangladeshi holidays, so treat them as a way to compare hotels. Where no reliable rate was published, we give a price band instead.

The beach runs for about 120 km, the hotels sit in three zones along it, and the best months to go are November to February.

Cox's Bazar hotels compared: area, price and pool

Starting rates seen in October 2026 ran from about US$28 a night at Prime Park Hotel to about US$135 at the Ramada by Wyndham, with Sayeman Beach Resort and the Royal Tulip in the top $$$$ band. Ten of the sixteen list a pool. The full reviews follow in the same order as this table.

16 best hotels and resorts in Cox's Bazar for 2026

For the beach itself, book Sayeman Beach Resort, the Royal Tulip at Inani or Mermaid Beach Resort at Pechar Dwip. For value in town, Long Beach Hotel, Seagull Hotel and Hotel Sea Crown stand out, and Prime Park Hotel is the cheapest well-rated stay. We list the beach resorts first, then the town hotels from upper mid-range to budget. "Town" means the Hotel Motel Zone, Kolatoli and the streets behind Laboni and Sugandha points.

Sayeman Beach Resort

Our editor's pick carries the oldest name in Cox's Bazar. The original Hotel Sayeman, built in 1964, was the first private hotel in the town; the modern resort was rebuilt on a beachfront plot on Marine Drive Road at Kolatoli and is now one of the most consistently top-rated stays on the coast, with Tripadvisor scores around 4.8 out of 5 across thousands of reviews.

The infinity pool looks straight over the Bay of Bengal and is the photo most guests take home. There is a spa, and dining covers four venues: Casablanca restaurant, the round-the-clock Surf Side Café, the YuMe café at the infinity pool and a sunset bar and grill. Room categories run from Super Deluxe King and Twin rooms to Infinity Sea View rooms and the Panorama Ocean Suite; sources put the total at well over 200 rooms.

The resort sits right by the shoreline, with surfing and other water sports close at hand. The drawbacks are price and demand: at $$$$ it is among the most expensive hotels in town, and it books out over Eid, Pohela Boishakh and December holidays. Couples on a special-occasion stay should ask for an Infinity Sea View room for sunrise and sunset over the water.

Royal Tulip Sea Pearl Beach Resort & Spa

The Royal Tulip at Jaliapalong, Inani, in Ukhia upazila, is the best full resort and the largest on the coast, with about 493 units on a site of roughly 14 to 15 acres. It lies south of town off Marine Drive, on the quieter Inani Beach stretch, where the coral stones of Inani appear at low tide.

It is built for staying put. Rooms and suites come with kitchenettes, and facilities include pools, a spa, gym, tennis and badminton courts, billiards and a 3D cinema. Next door, the separately operated Sea Pearl Water Park, around nine acres, has slides and a wave pool, which makes this the obvious $$$$ choice for families with children and groups who want everything on site. Book a water park package if it is offered with your room.

Some guests report low water pressure in bathrooms and service that slows when the resort is full. Being far from town means you rely on hotel restaurants or a car for meals out.

Ramada by Wyndham Cox's Bazar Kolatoli Beach

Hotel Ibis Limited, a Bangladeshi developer, signed this Ramada with Wyndham Hotels and Resorts in 2023, which makes it the best international brand on Marine Drive. Wyndham describes it as a modern hotel near Kolatoli Beach and a short drive from Cox's Bazar Airport, with an infinity pool, a spa and a restaurant.

Oceanfront and sea-view rooms are the reason to book. Brand standards make it a safe choice for business travellers and anyone who wants a familiar chain and loyalty points. Rates seen in October 2026 started from about US$135 a night, the highest starting rate of the town-side hotels we checked.

Listings disagree on its official star rating, and it has fewer guest reviews than older hotels. Check the latest reviews before booking a long stay, and request an oceanfront room in writing.

Long Beach Hotel

As a mid-range all-rounder, Long Beach Hotel at 14 Kolatoli Road in the Hotel Motel Zone is hard to fault. Reviews put it near the top of the town's upper mid-range hotels, rated around 4.7 out of 5 on Tripadvisor and about 8 out of 10 on other booking sites, with around 104 rooms, two restaurants and a 24-hour gym.

The location is practical: about 3 km from the town centre, a two-minute drive from Kolatoli Beach and close to the airport, with a free airport shuttle and free parking listed. Rates seen in October 2026 started from about US$59 a night, fair value for families and business travellers who want comfort.

Listings disagree on the pool, one describing an indoor pool and others a children's pool, so confirm the type with the hotel if swimming matters. Rooms do not face the sea directly.

Seagull Hotel

Seagull, on plots 6 to 8 of the Hotel Motel Zone, is one of the established big hotels in town, and its standout feature is its own landscaped walkway to the beach. Few town hotels let you walk from your room to the sand without crossing a busy road.

Facilities include a pool, spa and parking, and rates seen in October 2026 started from about US$57 a night. It suits families who want to be in the middle of town with the beach a few minutes away.

It is an older building, and review scores are lower than at newer rivals, around 3.9 out of 5 on Tripadvisor. Ask for a sea-facing, recently refurbished room.

Best Western Heritage

Best Western Heritage stands at 173-01 Bypass Road, by Kolatoli Circle, in a 15-storey building with around 230 rooms, one of the larger hotels in town and the one we would pick for groups, conferences and weddings. It has meeting rooms for those events.

An outdoor pool is confirmed, and some listings also mention a rooftop pool. Upper floors look over the town to the sea; ask for a high floor facing west. Rates seen in October 2026 started from about US$65 a night, and guest scores average around 7.8 out of 10.

Being on the bypass road and away from the beach, it needs a short rickshaw or taxi ride to the sand. Corporate events can make the lobby busy.

Mermaid Beach Resort

For an eco-style retreat, Mermaid Beach Resort sits at Pechar Dwip, beside the beach on the western side of Marine Drive near the Reju Canal, about 16 km south of town. Rooms are spread across the grounds as garden bungalows, beach villas and honeymoon villas, and prices sit in the $$$ band.

Its sister property, Mermaid Eco Resort, is about a kilometre away. The drive into town along Marine Drive takes around 20 minutes, with the sea on one side and hills on the other, so plan dinners at the resort to avoid late drives.

Pool details vary between listings, so ask if you need one. Evenings are quiet, which is the appeal for couples who want privacy and a drawback for those who want restaurants and nightlife.

Ocean Paradise Hotel & Resort

The best pools in town belong to Ocean Paradise, a long-established large hotel on Kolatoli Road that local reporting describes with an outdoor pool, a separate pool for children, a fitness centre, gym and steam room. Listings mention balconies and sea-view room types, and a balcony room catches the sea breeze.

The Kolatoli Road location puts it about 1.5 km from Kolatoli Beach and close to the town's restaurants. At $$$ it is a sensible pick for families with children who want a pool day between beach trips.

Listings disagree on room numbers and star rating, and recent reviews are fewer than for its rivals. Check photos of the specific room category before booking.

Hotel The Cox Today

Popular with Bangladeshi travellers, Hotel The Cox Today stands on plots 13 and 14, Block C, Kolatoli Road, about five minutes' drive from the airport and a minute's drive from Kolatoli Beach. It markets itself as a five-star hotel and is a regular choice for domestic travellers and corporate groups.

An outdoor pool and a gym are listed, along with room types that include pool access. Airport pick-up and drop-off can be arranged, which helps on short stays. Rates seen in October 2026 started from about US$60 a night.

Guest scores are middling on international sites, around 5 out of 10 from a small number of reviews, so expect the service of a large, busy hotel and read recent reviews for your room type.

Sayeman Heritage Residence

Sayeman Heritage Residence is on Hotel Sayeman Road in Baharchhara, linked to the site of the original 1964 Hotel Sayeman. It is a small heritage residence in town, far smaller than the beach resort, with around twenty rooms on booking sites, and Tripadvisor scores around 4.9 out of 5 from a few hundred reviews.

Couples on a mid-range ($$) budget get the Sayeman service standard at a lower price in a quieter, older part of town. The beach is a short ride away.

There is no pool listed and no beachfront, so pair it with a day pass at a resort pool if you want a swim. Choose it for the service and location in old Cox's Bazar.

Hotel Sea Crown

The best value on Marine Drive is Hotel Sea Crown, at Kolatoli New Beach across the road from the sand. It has one of the largest review counts of any mid-priced hotel in town, around 7.4 out of 10 from more than 700 reviews.

A rooftop terrace with sea views, free Wi-Fi in public areas and a 24-hour business centre are listed. Rates seen in October 2026 started from about US$33 a night, low for a Marine Drive address and a good fit for budget travellers who want a sea view.

There is no pool, and rooms are simpler than at the resorts. Sea-view rooms cost more and are worth the extra here.

Grace Cox Smart Hotel

Near New Beach Road in Kolatoli, within a few minutes' walk of Sugandha and Laboni points and close to Praasad Paradise, Grace Cox Smart Hotel offers an indoor pool on a budget. A gym and an airport shuttle are also listed, unusual in its price band.

Rates seen in October 2026 started from about US$37 a night, one of the cheapest ways to get a pool in town for budget travellers.

Guest scores are modest, around 5.4 out of 10, with complaints focused on upkeep. Keep expectations simple, and ask to see the room before unpacking if anything looks wrong.

Praasad Paradise Hotel & Resort

Praasad Paradise is at Plot 9, New Beach Road, about 3 km from the airport. Sugandha and Laboni beach points are about five to eight minutes' walk away, and the hotel advertises sea views from some rooms. Prices sit in the $$ band.

It offers a 24-hour front desk and free Wi-Fi, and makes a practical base for walkers who want to be near the busiest beach points, the Burmese market at Sugandha and the seafood restaurants.

Star ratings and parking details differ between booking sites. Confirm parking if you are driving from Chattogram or Dhaka.

Royal Pearl Suites

Apartment-style rooms are the draw at Royal Pearl Suites, also listed as Royal Pearl Apartment & Suites, in the Kolatoli area, with a pool and parking.

Larger suites work well for families or groups of friends sharing, and rates seen in October 2026 started from about US$33 a night. Guest scores average around 7.3 out of 10.

It is a self-sufficient stay with few hotel extras. Check what kitchen equipment your unit has.

Prime Park Hotel

The best cheap stay we found is Prime Park, a garden-style three-star hotel in Kolatoli within about 2 km of Sugandha Beach, Laboni Beach and the Cox's Bazar Cultural Centre. It has a terrace, a snack bar, free self-parking and free in-room Wi-Fi.

Rates seen in October 2026 started from about US$28 a night, and guest scores average around 7.3 out of 10 from more than a hundred reviews, a combination that suits budget travellers and road-trippers.

It is not on the beach, and facilities are basic, so plan on a rickshaw or auto-rickshaw ride to the sand.

Hotel Shaibal (Bangladesh Parjatan Corporation)

A government-run classic, Hotel Shaibal on Motel Road is operated by the Bangladesh Parjatan Corporation, the state tourism body, which also runs Motel Laboni and Motel Prabal in Cox's Bazar. The motels sit close to Laboni Point and the lake behind it, and prices run from $ to $$.

Rooms are older but spacious, often with balconies, and the grounds are calmer than the surrounding private hotels, which suits travellers who want space and quiet near Laboni at a lower price. Bookings are made through the official Parjatan website or by phone.

Service and maintenance are typical of state-run hotels: functional, not polished. Check current rates and availability directly with Parjatan, which publishes seasonal offers.

Where to stay in Cox's Bazar: town, Marine Drive or Inani?

Stay in town, in the Hotel Motel Zone or Kolatoli, if this is your first visit and you want restaurants, the Burmese market and beach points within walking distance. Choose Marine Drive at Kolatoli for a beachfront tower with sea views and an easy run into town. Pick Pechar Dwip, Himchari or Inani if you want quieter sand and plan to spend most of your time at the resort.

The beach is about 120 km long, so "beachfront" means very different things. Laboni Point is the busiest stretch, with horse rides and speedboats; Sugandha has the market and food stalls; Kolatoli has the big hotels. South along Marine Drive, the crowds thin quickly, and Inani has a separate 18 km stretch of beach known for coral stones that appear at low tide.

Getting there has improved. Since 1 December 2023, the Cox's Bazar Express has run directly from Dhaka by rail, and more trains have been added since. Domestic flights from Dhaka take about an hour. A new international terminal has been built at Cox's Bazar Airport, but as of October 2026 regular international flights had not been confirmed, so most overseas visitors still connect through Dhaka or Chattogram. Compare options on our flights page.

How to get to Cox's Bazar from Dhaka: flights, train and bus

Cox's Bazar is about 400 kilometres south-east of Dhaka by road, and the fastest way there is a one-hour domestic flight. The overnight train takes about 8 hours and the bus 10 to 12. The airport handles domestic flights only as of October 2026, so international visitors connect in Dhaka or Chattogram.

Flights are run by Biman Bangladesh Airlines, US-Bangla Airlines, Novoair and Air Astra; book early for December, Eid and long weekends. The train is the Cox's Bazar Express, a non-stop overnight intercity, plus other services added since 2023. Its sleeper berths and AC chairs sell out quickly, so book on the Bangladesh Railway e-ticket system. AC and non-AC coaches leave from Dhaka bus terminals, usually overnight, arriving early morning; holiday traffic adds hours to the 10 to 12 hour run.

The Cox's Bazar Express runs six days a week with one weekly off day in each direction and arrives in the early morning, which suits a hotel check-in after breakfast. The railway station is outside the town centre, so arrange an auto-rickshaw or hotel pickup to Kolatoli or Marine Drive. Flights are the best choice for a short weekend, while the train is cheaper and more comfortable than the bus for most travellers.

When is the best time to visit Cox's Bazar, and when are hotels cheapest?

Cox's Bazar is at its best from November to February: dry, sunny weather and a calmer sea. It is also peak season, with the biggest crowds in December and on weekends, so book well ahead. Hotel rates are lowest from June to September, when monsoon rain, rough seas and swimming restrictions keep most visitors away.

March to May is hot and humid, with pre-monsoon storms possible; crowds are moderate and rates mid-range, with spikes and holiday surges at Pohela Boishakh and Eid. In the June to September monsoon, crowds stay low except during Eid and large hotels give good discounts. By October the rain is easing and the sea settling, crowds are rising and rates start climbing towards peak.

Hotel prices in Cox's Bazar move with the calendar more than with the weather. The same room can cost much more on a Friday in December than on a weekday in July, and big resorts on Marine Drive often publish seasonal offers outside the peak months. For the best value with dry weather, aim for a midweek stay in November or February, avoid the days around Eid and the year-end school holidays, and book directly or compare rates early, since the most popular hotels sell out first.

Peak dates, pools, sea views and safety: booking a Cox's Bazar hotel

High season runs November to February, and hotels fill over December holidays, Eid and Pohela Boishakh, so book early for those dates; weekday stays are noticeably cheaper. From about June to September the sea is rough. Swim only where lifeguards are on duty, and never when red flags or warning signals are up.

Listings for several hotels disagree about pool type or opening, so ask the hotel directly if a pool is the reason you are booking. Treat "sea view" with the same care, because it can mean a corner glimpse: ask for the floor and direction, and request photos for higher room categories.

For Inani or Pechar Dwip, arrange an airport or station transfer through the resort, since Marine Drive is scenic but has few taxis at night. Quicksand is a danger at ebb tide on parts of the beach, so ask hotel staff about tide times before long walks.
