In short

A replica Najdi village in Riyadh's Al Olaya serving central Saudi dishes such as kabsa on majlis floor seating, with a Bib Gourmand. Families, groups and first-time visitors come for the setting, with private rooms and outdoor seating.

Najd Village is a traditional Saudi restaurant in Al Olaya, King Fahd District, Riyadh, built as a replica of an old Najdi village. It holds a MICHELIN Bib Gourmand and suits families, groups and first-time visitors who want central Saudi food on majlis floor seating.

The recreated village and private majlis rooms

Mud-style walls, twisted timber beams and period furniture recreate an old village, with a central garden crossed by water channels. Many guests eat in private majlis rooms, sitting on carpets and cushions around a shared spread, and there is also a covered terrace with floor seating. The restaurant is family-friendly and a simple taxi or ride-hailing trip from most Olaya hotels. Gault&Millau Saudi Arabia rates it 12/20.

Kabsa, marqooq and the signature plates

Najdi standards fill the menu: kabsa, marqooq and maqluba. Signature plates include a chicken centrepiece on red and white rice, stir-fried lamb with onions, lamb with tomato and spices, khobz al tawa flatbread with tahini, samosas, and jareesh, a wheat porridge finished with onion and lime. Platters for two or three people are the usual way to order.
