A three-MICHELIN-star southern Thai restaurant in a converted house on Sukhumvit 26, about ten minutes' walk from Phrom Phong BTS. One long set menu at fine-dining prices makes it a special-occasion booking that needs planning well ahead; it is closed on Saturdays.
Sorn is a three-MICHELIN-star southern Thai restaurant in a converted house at 56 Soi Sukhumvit 26, Khlong Toei, Bangkok, about ten minutes on foot from Phrom Phong BTS station and the EmQuartier mall. It serves one long set menu and suits diners planning a special-occasion meal well in advance.
The MICHELIN Guide Thailand awarded Sorn three stars in its 2025 edition, and Michelin described it as the first Thai restaurant to reach that level. Self-taught chef-owner Supaksorn Jongsiri cooks the food of southern Thailand with modern precision, using produce from the south: prawns from the Tapi River, Phuket lobster and squid from the Andaman Sea.
The meal is a long run of small courses, built on hot southern curries, fermented seasonings and fresh herbs, served at an unhurried pace. There is a Classic menu, a Seasonal menu on selected dates, and optional wine or non-alcoholic pairings. Expect more than two hours at the table and one of the highest bills in the city.
Sorn grew out of Chef Supaksorn "Ice" Jongsiri's ties to southern Thailand and the cooking he learned from his grandmother. Before opening, he travelled through all 14 southern provinces to learn from farmers, fishermen and home cooks, and he still buys straight from those communities. The name comes from the Sanskrit word "sorana". The MICHELIN Guide Thailand 2026, announced in November 2025, kept Sorn at three stars, and Sühring joined it as the country's second three-star restaurant. A new Seasonal menu is being previewed on selected dates in October and November 2026 ahead of a full launch in early January 2027; it shares only the rice salad and chilli fish sauce with the Classic menu.
