Tables sit on an open deck with no roof, and the whole Bangkok skyline wraps around you. Beside it, Moon Bar serves drinks from 17:00, and its signature cocktail is the Vertigo Sunset. The menu is international grill and seafood, from fish to premium steaks, with a wine and champagne list to match. Prices are at the luxury end for Bangkok, and most dinners run over two hours.
From Lumphini MRT and timing a sunset table
Lumphini MRT station is about ten minutes' walk away, and a lift takes guests up through the hotel. A table at 18:00 lets you watch the sun go down before the main course.
The converted helipad and Moon Bar's history
Vertigo and Moon Bar sit on a converted helipad about 220 metres above the city, and Moon Bar has been open since 2002, making it one of the longest-running rooftop venues in Bangkok. At the grill the main offer is a four-course set dinner served under the open sky. If you only want the view, Moon Bar works on a minimum spend of 800 baht, which covers roughly two cocktails; the Issan Coco is the other house cocktail regulars order besides the Vertigo Sunset. Book the bar too on rainy-season evenings, because both spaces depend on the weather.
