Hello, How can We Help You?
Tanguar Haor is not only rich in natural beauty but also offers a variety of fascinating spots to explore. If you're planning a visit, make sure to check out these must-see locations:
There are two main routes to reach Tanguar Haor:
You can take a direct bus to Sunamganj from Sayedabad, Mohakhali, or Fakirapool. Several bus services like Shyamoli, Ena, Hanif, and Mamun operate daily.
From Sylhet’s Kumarpara/Kumargaon Bus Stand, take a local bus to Sunamganj.
Alternatively, you can take a private vehicle (like a micro or auto) from Shahjalal Mazar Gate for around BDT 200.
From Sunamganj Bus Stand, cross Surma Bridge and take a CNG, bike, or Laguna to Tahirpur – it takes about 1.5 hours.
At Tahirpur Ghat, you can rent small or large trawlers depending on group size. There are also houseboats with modern facilities, but those must be booked in advance.
During monsoon, you can reserve a boat directly from Saheb Bari Ghat in Sunamganj and skip the road trip to Tahirpur.
In winter, take a CNG/bike to Solemanpur, then hire a trawler from there.
By Train:
Take the Haor Express (overnight train) from Dhaka to Mohanganj. From there, take a bike, auto, or Laguna to Dharmapasha or Modhyanagar.
From Modhyanagar, reserve a trawler to Tanguar Haor – it takes about 3 hours, passing through multiple scenic wetlands and canals.
By Bus:
Take a direct bus from Dhaka to Netrokona, then continue to Modhyanagar by bike or local transport. Alternatively, some buses go directly to Mohanganj or Modhyanagar. From Modhyanagar, take a trawler to Tanguar Haor.
