Angry Birds World at Doha Festival City in Qatar was the first theme park based on Rovio's Angry Birds games, with indoor and outdoor rides, a karting track and a large trampoline zone.
Angry Birds World at Doha Festival City was the first theme park based on Rovio's games, with indoor and outdoor rides, karting and a big trampoline zone. An Adult Card is QAR 50 and a Kids Card QAR 100, with rides QAR 15 to 90. It opens at noon most days, from 10 AM on Saturdays, closing at 10 PM or midnight. Families stay three to four hours.
Angry Birds World is a family theme park at Doha Festival City, the large shopping and leisure complex on the northern side of Doha in Qatar. It was announced in early 2018 as the first park of its kind in the world based on the Angry Birds mobile games made by the Finnish company Rovio.
The park opened in phases. The indoor section of about 6,500 square metres opened in June 2018, and the outdoor area followed in a later phase. Altogether the park covers roughly 17,000 square metres.
More than 20 rides and attractions are themed on the games' birds and pigs. Among them are the Super Slingshot, a 42-metre outdoor ride, the Own the Sky roller glider and rides such as Blast Bomb and Red Alert. Trampoline Universe fills about 1,300 square metres with trampolines, and the park also has an indoor and outdoor karting track, the Epic Battle laser tag arena, play areas for small children and themed food outlets.
Because a large part of the park is indoors and air-conditioned, it is popular with families during Qatar's hot summer months as well as in the cooler season.
Entry works with rechargeable play cards. An Adult Card costs QAR 50 and a Kids Card QAR 100, each loaded with the same amount of credit and valid for six months, while the one-day Ultimate Flock Pass at QAR 249 covers up to four people. Individual rides cost QAR 15 to 90, and children aged three and under enter free. Doha Festival City has plenty of parking and is reached by taxi or ride-hailing from central Doha. Check the park's current hours and ticket options before visiting, as they change with school holidays.
Height limits decide most choices. Hatchlings, a soft-play zone with slides and a ball pit, starts at 70 cm, Bouncing Blues at 80 cm and Trampoline Universe at 85 cm. The Own the Sky zip line around Stella's Tree and the outdoor City Studio climbing and ropes course both need riders to be at least 120 cm. Blast Bomb is an 11 metre drop tower, and Pirate Coast uses boat-shaped dodgems with infrared targets. Outdoors, the Raft Battle boats come with water blasters, so bring a change of clothes. There are no lockers, and closed-toe shoes are needed for some activities. The park also has more than 70 arcade and redemption games.
