Pratunam, Bangkok has a hotel for each kind of traveller: the Novotel Bangkok Platinum Pratunam for shoppers, Centre Point Pratunam for families, VIE Hotel Bangkok, MGallery for food lovers and Lemontea Hotel for tight budgets. Choosing among them mostly comes down to how far you want to carry your shopping bags. This guide ranks 13 hotels in and around Pratunam, from the Novotel on top of Platinum Fashion Mall to budget rooms in the market lanes and a boutique hotel with a Michelin-starred restaurant, with honest notes on transport, noise and who each one suits.
Pratunam is a short walk north of CentralWorld and the Ratchaprasong malls. For the district itself, its markets and how to get around, see our Bangkok neighbourhoods guide, and compare live rates on our hotel search.
How we chose these hotels: We looked at hotels within walking distance of Platinum Fashion Mall and Pratunam Market, or close to the Phaya Thai and Ratchaprarop rail stations that serve the area. We checked room counts, facilities, Michelin status and walking distances against hotel and booking listings as of October 2026. Rates change daily, so we give price bands.
Of the 13 hotels compared, three are budget picks and one has a Michelin-starred restaurant, and two rail lines (the BTS and the Airport Rail Link) serve the area.

The 13 best hotels in Pratunam, reviewed one by one
Novotel Bangkok Platinum Pratunam is the top pick for shoppers because it sits directly above Platinum Fashion Mall. Families do best at Centre Point Pratunam or Amari Bangkok, food lovers at VIE Hotel, and budget travellers at Lemontea Hotel or Metz Pratunam. Each review covers location, type, nearest rail station and the drawback guests mention most.
Novotel Bangkok Platinum Pratunam
If the point of your trip is Platinum Fashion Mall, nothing beats sleeping on top of it. This four-star Novotel is built directly above the mall on Phetchaburi Road, so you can shop for an hour, ride the lift up to drop your bags and go straight back down. Rooms follow the reliable Novotel standard, with a pool, gym, spa, rooftop bar and an executive lounge for higher room categories.
Guest reviews on the big booking sites are consistently strong, and the hotel handles a lot of families and repeat shoppers. Breakfast is busy and fills up quickly in peak months.
Transport is the weak point: BTS Chit Lom is roughly a 10-minute walk away, across busy roads. Taxis from the hotel door often sit in Pratunam traffic, so build in extra time for airport runs. Serious shoppers should ask for a high floor away from the street side for less noise.
Amari Bangkok
With 564 rooms, the five-star Amari Bangkok on Phetchaburi Road, at the Pratunam end of Ratchaprasong, is one of the largest hotels in the area. It runs as a full-service, resort-style city hotel: a pool, the Breeze Spa, a gym, five restaurants and three bars, plus meeting and wedding spaces that keep the lobby lively.
Shoppers come for the location. Platinum Fashion Mall is a very short walk, and CentralWorld is within easy reach on foot. Families and groups on longer stays like the choice of restaurants under one roof after a long day in the markets.
Like the rest of Pratunam, it is not close to a BTS station: Chit Lom is a walk of around 10 to 15 minutes. A large hotel also means queues at peak check-in and breakfast times, so book a club room if you want a quieter breakfast.
Centara Grand at CentralWorld
Centara Grand, a five-star with 505 rooms on Rama I Road, connects directly to CentralWorld, one of Bangkok's biggest malls. It is technically on the Ratchaprasong side of the canal, a short walk south of Pratunam, which suits travellers who want Pratunam shopping and polished mall dining in one trip.
The hotel has a pool, a convention centre and rooftop venues including Red Sky and CRU Champagne Bar on the 55th floor, popular for sunset drinks; book Red Sky ahead. BTS Siam and Chit Lom are both reachable through the mall and skywalk network.
Room rates are well above Pratunam averages, and the lobby is busy with conference guests. Couples who want mall convenience and a rooftop view will like it; if you mainly want to shop wholesale and sleep, a hotel north of the canal costs less.
Centara Watergate Pavilion Hotel Bangkok
Four-star comfort at upper mid-range prices is the case for Centara Watergate Pavilion, which stands on Ratchaprarop Road and connects to the Watergate Pavilion mall. Its 281 rooms come with a pool, spa, gym and the WALK rooftop lounge, and Platinum and Pratunam Market are a short walk away.
The rooftop is a pleasant place for an evening drink above the traffic, and guests often note it as good value for its facilities, which suits mid-budget shoppers who still want a pool.
Rail access is the weakness. BTS Chit Lom is roughly 10 minutes on foot, so use the Airport Rail Link at Ratchaprarop for airport trips and skip the traffic.
Centre Point Pratunam
Families are the focus at Centre Point Pratunam, a four-star with apartment-style rooms on Soi Phetchaburi 15, about 8 minutes on foot from BTS Phaya Thai. It has a saltwater pool, kids' club, spa, gym, restaurant and rooftop bar, and its connecting family rooms reach about 94 square metres, with space for up to eight people.
Pratunam Market and Platinum are both a short walk, so parents can split up: one shops while the other stays by the pool with the children. Book a connecting family room early for school holidays.
It is less suited to couples looking for a romantic stay, and the soi can be noisy with deliveries in the early morning.
Baiyoke Sky Hotel
The tallest stay in the area, the four-star Baiyoke Sky Hotel occupies Baiyoke Tower II, about 304 metres tall and one of Bangkok's landmarks. The city view is part of the room, and hotel guests get access to the observation levels near the top of the tower, including the revolving roof deck on the 84th floor.
Its position on Ratchaprarop Road, near the Airport Rail Link at Ratchaprarop, puts Pratunam Market right below you, which is why it remains a favourite with shoppers from across Asia. The tower also has buffet restaurants on its upper floors.
It is a big, busy tower hotel, and lift waits can be long at peak times. Some rooms show their age, so read recent reviews, choose a renovated category if one is offered, and request the highest floor available at check-in.
Baiyoke Suite Hotel
Every one of the 255 rooms at Baiyoke Suite Hotel is a suite, which means a separate sitting area and more space than standard rooms at a similar mid-range price. The older sister of the Sky Hotel stands a short walk away in the same Pratunam block near Ratchaprarop Road, with the Airport Rail Link at Ratchaprarop close by.
Shoppers who need room to spread out purchases, or small families who want a sofa bed, do well here. City views over Pratunam are a bonus on higher floors.
Expect a dated feel in some areas; it offers functional value with little design flair. Ask for a renovated suite.
The Berkeley Hotel Pratunam
Across Ratchaprarop Road from Pratunam Pier on Khlong Saen Saep stands The Berkeley, a four-star, full-service city hotel with a pool. The hotel says the pier is about a 5-minute walk and Ratchaprarop station on the Airport Rail Link about 10 minutes, which makes it one of the better-connected hotels in the district.
From the pier you can ride west toward the Golden Mount and the old city or east toward the Sukhumvit side, avoiding road traffic. Check boat times, which end earlier at weekends.
Ratchaprarop Road is busy day and night. Light sleepers should choose a higher floor or a room facing away from the street.
VIE Hotel Bangkok, MGallery
VIE Hotel, a five-star boutique on Phaya Thai Road in Ratchathewi, at the western edge of the Pratunam area, is about 100 metres from BTS Ratchathewi. With 153 rooms it is smaller and calmer than the tower hotels by the markets, and it has a pool, spa and gym.
Its restaurant, Signature, on the 11th floor, holds one Michelin star in the 2026 Michelin Guide Thailand, so you can have one of the city's serious dinners without leaving the building; book it when you book the room. Jim Thompson House and the Bangkok Art and Culture Centre are close.
Platinum Fashion Mall is a longer walk or a short taxi. Couples and food lovers who want quiet plus the BTS should choose VIE; it is a poor base for ferrying shopping bags.
Anajak Bangkok Hotel
Reaching Anajak Bangkok from Suvarnabhumi Airport (BKK) with luggage is about as easy as it gets in the wider Pratunam area. The upper mid-range hotel is on Phaya Thai Road, roughly 100 metres from BTS Phaya Thai and the Phaya Thai terminal of the Airport Rail Link, so ride the line to the end.
Rooms are modern and the hotel has a pool and a restaurant and bar. It suits short stopovers and late-night arrivals.
Dining choice inside is limited, and the markets are a longer walk of about 10 to 15 minutes. Taxis are easy to find.
Pullman Bangkok King Power
A large infinity pool and the King Power duty-free complex next door set Pullman King Power apart. The five-star sits on Soi Rang Nam in Ratchathewi, north of Pratunam toward Victory Monument, with 354 rooms and suites, a spa, three restaurants and three bars.
It is a calm alternative to the market-side hotels, with BTS Phaya Thai about 350 metres away and the Airport Rail Link within a few minutes on foot. Soi Rang Nam itself has good local restaurants.
You will take a short ride or a longer walk to Platinum Fashion Mall. Couples and pool lovers who want luxury and space first and shopping second fit best; use the pool in the late afternoon when it is quieter.
Lemontea Hotel Bangkok
Our budget pick inside the market, Lemontea Hotel is a three-star on Soi Phetchaburi 15, in the Pratunam fashion market area and about 6 minutes on foot from BTS Phaya Thai. Its 73 rooms have playful, drink-themed designs, and the low rates make it a favourite with budget shoppers.
You are steps from the stalls, so it is easy to shop in short bursts and drop bags off. Wi-Fi is free and showers are better than you might expect at the price.
There is no pool, restaurant or gym, and the street is busy from early morning, so bring earplugs. Treat it as a place to sleep between shopping sessions.
Metz Pratunam
Small and friendly, Metz Pratunam is a 25-room, three-star budget hotel on Phetchaburi Road, close to the night market area and about 5 minutes on foot from BTS Phaya Thai. Guests frequently mention attentive staff, and the area around it is full of cheap local food.
Solo travellers and couples who want a clean, central room and plan to spend their days out will be comfortable here.
Rooms are basic and there is no pool or gym. With so few rooms, it books up in high season, so book early for December and January.
How do you choose a Pratunam hotel by budget and travel style?
Pick by transport first, then by how much you will buy. Pratunam has no BTS station of its own, so your hotel decides your daily walk. Heavy shoppers should sleep beside Platinum Fashion Mall, families near the big pools, couples at the quieter Ratchaprasong and Phaya Thai edges, and budget travellers in the small Phetchaburi soi hotels.
Hotels on Ratchaprarop Road use the Airport Rail Link at Ratchaprarop and the canal boat at Pratunam Pier. Hotels toward Phaya Thai Road are closest to the BTS Sukhumvit Line and the Airport Rail Link terminus. Hotels on the Ratchaprasong side reach BTS Chit Lom and Siam through the skywalk.
Heavy buyers save energy by dropping bags at the hotel several times a day, so stay as close to Platinum and the market as possible. Light shoppers who want to see the city will be happier near Phaya Thai or Ratchathewi, with the rail line outside the door.
Families benefit most from Pratunam's apartment-style hotels and big pools. Couples should look at the boutique and rooftop options at the Ratchaprasong and Phaya Thai edges, where nights are quieter. Budget travellers get the best value in the small hotels on the Phetchaburi sois, as long as they can sleep through early-morning trading.
Booking tips for Pratunam hotels: dates, airport rail and quiet rooms
Book two to three months ahead for December to February and Thai long weekends, when family and mid-range hotels fill up. Use the Airport Rail Link City Line from Suvarnabhumi, which stops at Ratchaprarop and ends at Phaya Thai, both close to Pratunam hotels and faster than taxis at rush hour. Ask for a high room away from the main road.
Market trading starts early and traffic runs late, so a high floor on the side away from the main road makes a big difference. Some budget hotels have small lifts and tight rooms; if you plan to shop heavily, choose a hotel with luggage storage for your last day.
Most Bangkok hotels take a refundable deposit by card or cash at check-in, so ask how much and when it is returned. Thai entry requirements depend on your passport: check the official Thai e-visa portal and our visa section before you book.
