Hotels in Ari, Bangkok tend to be small, independent and close to the Skytrain. Ari has no five-star towers and no famous chains on Phahonyothin Soi 7, so the choice comes down to a handful of design hotels, a high-rise with a rooftop pool, a few well-run guesthouses and some of the friendliest hostels in the city. This guide covers eleven of them, from the 34th-floor pool at The Quarter Ari to a container-built hostel with hammocks in the garden, and explains who each one suits and what to check before you book.

Ari is the neighbourhood locals point to when they want to show you everyday Bangkok: cafés in converted houses, office workers queuing for chicken rice, and quiet lanes where the street food stays cheap. Our Bangkok neighbourhoods guide compares it with Sukhumvit, Silom and the Old City. If you have already picked Ari, read on, then compare dates and rates on our hotel booking page.

How we chose these hotels: We started from every property within about 1 km of Ari or Sanam Pao BTS stations, then kept only places with strong, consistent guest scores and something specific to recommend them: a pool, a location on a quiet soi, a well-designed room or a genuinely social hostel. Guest scores and the starting rates quoted below were checked on major booking sites in October 2026 for a one-night stay and change daily, so treat them as a way to compare hotels with each other.

All 11 hotels and hostels here are within reach of Ari BTS (station N5), which is two stops from Chatuchak and five from Siam.

New to the area? The Ari travel guide covers the sights, transport and street layout, and there is a separate guide to where to eat nearby.

Ari hotels compared: price, pool and walk to the BTS

The Quarter Ari by UHG is the most comfortable stay, a rooftop-pool high-rise about 300 metres from Ari BTS from around US$81 a night (rates seen in October 2026). Vic3 Bangkok, from about US$45, and Josh Hotel, from about US$38, are cheaper boutique choices with a pool and a plunge pool. The table compares all eleven hotels.

Use this table to shortlist; the full review of each hotel follows below.

Rates are the lowest seen in October 2026 for a standard room or bed and move with dates and demand. Only The Quarter Ari, Vic3 and Blu Cabin have a full pool; Josh Hotel has a plunge pool suited to cooling off, not swimming laps. Vib Best Western is measured to Sanam Pao, one BTS stop south of Ari, which adds a couple of minutes by train to reach the Ari café lanes. A distance of 0.2 mi (about 300 m) is a walk of roughly four minutes.

11 best hotels in Ari, Bangkok: full reviews

Stays are ordered roughly from the most comfortable to the cheapest beds. Distances are walking distances to Ari BTS station unless stated otherwise.

The Quarter Ari by UHG

Our editor's pick, The Quarter Ari is the one hotel in the neighbourhood that feels like a city high-rise. It occupies the upper floors of the Ari Hills building, from the 22nd to the 34th floor, so almost every room looks out over low-rise Phaya Thai towards the towers of central Bangkok. Listings put it at about 180 rooms, which makes it large by Ari standards without the anonymous feel of a convention hotel.

The draw is the roof: a lap pool and a sky bar at the top of the building, with a view that most travellers pay far more for in Sukhumvit or Silom. There is also a restaurant. Guest scores on the main booking sites sit around 8.8 out of 10 across thousands of reviews, a strong and steady result for a property of this size. Rates seen in October 2026 started from about US$81 a night.

The address is 428 Phahonyothin Road, Samsen Nai, Phaya Thai, about 300 m from Ari station (N5) and the start of Soi 7, so the cafés and food stalls of the neighbourhood are on the doorstep. The trade-off is the main-road setting, and the hotel is popular with Thai weekenders, so Friday and Saturday nights fill and cost more. Couples and first-time visitors who want a pool with a view should ask for a high floor facing south for the skyline.

Vic3 Bangkok

For value with a pool, Vic3 at 89 Phahonyothin Soi 3, Phaya Thai, is the pick. It sits on a quiet soi at the southern edge of the Ari area, about a four-minute walk from Sanam Pao station and roughly eight minutes from Ari. Some booking sites still list it under its older alternate name connected to All Seasons, so do not be confused if the name differs between platforms.

It is a mid-sized, well-kept hotel with an outdoor pool, a gym and an Asian bistro on site, and free self-parking, which matters if you are driving in from the airport or out to Ayutthaya. Guest scores hover around 8 to 8.6 depending on the platform. Rates seen in October 2026 started from about US$45 a night, low for a hotel with a pool this close to the BTS, and families and drivers get the most out of it.

The soi location keeps traffic noise down. The catch is that the immediate streets are quieter and more residential than Soi 7, so the café strip is a ten-minute walk away. Check-in starts at 2 pm and check-out is at noon.

Vib Best Western Sanam Pao

Best Western launched its Vib lifestyle brand in Asia with this design hotel, which opened in early 2019 at 1029/9 Phahonyothin Road, Samsen Nai. No hotel here is closer to the Skytrain: it stands steps from Sanam Pao BTS (N4), one stop south of Ari, so you can be on a train to Siam or Mo Chit within minutes of leaving your room.

Vib is aimed at younger travellers: compact, tech-friendly rooms, a shared lounge, a restaurant and bar, and a fitness room. Reviews average about 8.8 out of 10, and one recurring comment is how convenient the station is. Rates in October 2026 started from about US$48.

We found no pool listed, which is the main reason it sits below Vic3 for leisure travellers. For business trips and short city breaks built around the BTS, when you only need a clean, modern room next to the train, it is one of the most practical choices in the area.

Josh Hotel

Josh Hotel, near Ari Soi 4 in Phaya Thai, has the most character of any stay here and is the boutique hotel people photograph: retro mid-century furniture, pastel colours and a small courtyard plunge pool surrounded by sun loungers. It has 71 rooms across five categories, from compact entry-level rooms to larger rooms for couples, and it sits about a nine-minute walk from Ari BTS.

Guest scores average about 8.3 out of 10. Reviewers like the design and the café-style common areas; the recurring complaints are thin walls, corridor noise and some damp smells in older rooms, the price of a converted building in a humid city. Front-facing rooms pick up street noise. A cash deposit of about 500 baht is commonly requested at check-in.

Rates seen in October 2026 started from about US$38 a night, so couples and creative travellers who value atmosphere over soundproofing will be happy. Light sleepers should request a quiet room at the back when they book.

Bangkok Voyage Boutique

On our check, this small, quiet three-star hotel about 0.4 miles from Ari station carried the highest guest score of the area's hotels with more than a few hundred reviews, about 9.2 out of 10 in October 2026.

There is no pool and no rooftop bar. What guests praise is the basics done well: clean rooms with flat-screen TVs and decent toiletries, attentive staff and a calm location away from the evening noise of the main road. Rates seen in October 2026 started from about US$68, a little higher than larger hotels with more facilities, which reflects how consistently it is rated.

Solo travellers and couples who rank service above facilities get the comfort of a hotel with the personal service of a guesthouse. With so few rooms, it books out early around Thai holidays.

Boonrumpa Accommodation

Listed on some sites as BoonRumpa Condotel, Boonrumpa is at 1077/58 Phahonyothin Road, Phaya Thai, around half a mile from Ari BTS. It works more like a small building of quiet serviced rooms than a hotel, which is why it suits longer stays and is popular with remote workers and anyone staying a week or more.

Guest scores average around 8 out of 10. Rooms are simple and practical, and the location puts you between Ari and Sanam Pao, with both stations within walking distance. Rates in October 2026 started from about US$44 a night, and longer stays are where the value shows.

Do not expect hotel extras such as a pool, spa or restaurant. Check the room type carefully, since facilities vary between units.

41Cafetel

Ari is full of cafés, so a budget café-hotel fits the area well, and 41Cafetel puts the café downstairs. It sits about 0.6 miles from Ari station and scores around 8.7 out of 10 from a couple of hundred reviews.

Rooms are compact and clean, and the ground-floor café makes the morning easy for budget couples who like a good coffee before heading out. Parking and free Wi-Fi are listed. Rates seen in October 2026 started from about US$37 a night, the same band as Josh Hotel without the design premium.

At 0.6 miles you will walk ten minutes or more to the train, longer in the afternoon heat. A Grab ride to the station takes only a few minutes.

The Yard Hostel

Ari's best hostel garden belongs to The Yard, built from shipping containers around a large lawn at 51 Phahonyothin Soi 5, a dead-end lane that keeps most of the traffic away. A garden courtyard is rare in central Bangkok, and this one has tables, hammocks and a small open-air bar serving beer and cocktails.

It offers dorms (the cheapest, $) and private rooms ($$) and scores highly across platforms, around 9.1 to 9.4 out of 10. Ari BTS is about seven minutes on foot. The social life happens in the garden in the evening, which makes it easy for solo travellers to meet others in a calm base, without the party noise of Khao San Road.

Container rooms stay cool with air-conditioning but are compact, and storage space is limited. Book early for private rooms, which are far fewer than dorm beds.

Pingplalee Female House

Solo women travellers on a budget have a strong option in Pingplalee, a women-only hostel-style guesthouse about 0.2 miles from Ari station, near Soi 7, which puts the cafés and the station within a few minutes on foot.

Its guest score was the highest of any property we checked in the area, about 9.5 out of 10 from roughly two hundred reviews in October 2026. Guests mention cleanliness and a sense of security. Rates seen that month started from about US$35 a night.

Facilities are basic and shared spaces are small, so treat it as a safe, clean base for exploring.

Blu Cabin Ari

Blu Cabin Ari markets itself as a stylish gay "poshtel", a hostel with hotel touches, and it is LGBTQ+ friendly and adults only. It sits about 0.2 miles from Ari station and has an outdoor pool listed as open from 8 am to midnight, plus a spa and parking.

Scores are mixed, around 7.5 to 7.8 out of 10, and reviewers describe it as a cheap, fun place to sleep with no luxury pretensions. Breakfast is offered daily. Rates seen in October 2026 started from about US$51 a night, which makes it a social, budget base with a pool for LGBTQ+ travellers.

One listing noted daytime pool renovation. If the pool is the reason you are booking, message the property first.

LAF Hotel Aree

The cheapest bed we found was at LAF Hotel Aree, a capsule hotel in Phaya Thai about 0.4 miles from Ari BTS, at roughly US$10 a night in October 2026.

Guests score it around 8.4 out of 10 for cleanliness and value. A grab-and-go breakfast to take with you is included with some rates. Check-in starts at 2 pm and check-out is at noon.

There is no parking, storage is tight, and a capsule is not for everyone. For backpackers spending one or two nights before an early flight it is hard to beat on price.

Is Ari a good area to stay in Bangkok?

Ari is a good area to stay if you want a quieter, local neighbourhood with fast train access, and a poor choice if your priority is walking to the Grand Palace or partying late. The BTS Sukhumvit Line does most of the work: Ari is station N5, five stops north of Siam for the malls, two stops south of Mo Chit for Chatuchak Weekend Market, and three stops from Phaya Thai, where the Airport Rail Link runs to Suvarnabhumi Airport.

The downside is distance from the river and the Old City. Reaching Wat Pho or the Grand Palace means a change to the MRT or a taxi through some of the city's heaviest traffic, so plan those days early. Ari also has fewer hotels than Sukhumvit or Silom, and the best-rated small places book out over Thai long weekends.

Inside Ari, the choice is mainly about location on the map. Hotels on Phahonyothin Road, such as The Quarter Ari and Vib, are closest to the BTS but face the main road. Places on the numbered sois, like The Yard on Soi 5, are quieter but a few minutes further on foot. Vic3 and Vib sit nearer Sanam Pao station, which is just as useful for trains and slightly cheaper.

Tips for booking a hotel in Ari

Small Ari hotels fill with Thai visitors over long weekends and holidays such as Songkran in April, so book at least a few weeks ahead for those dates. Check which station you are really near, too: some "Ari" hotels are closer to Sanam Pao. Both are on the Sukhumvit Line, but look at the walk before you book a place advertised as near Ari.

In converted buildings like Josh Hotel, rear rooms are noticeably quieter than street-facing ones, and a short message before arrival helps you get one. Several smaller hotels ask for a cash deposit at check-in, so keep some baht ready.

From Suvarnabhumi, take the Airport Rail Link to Phaya Thai and change to the BTS north towards Ari, which avoids traffic at rush hour. From roughly May to October, afternoon storms are common, and a hotel within a short walk of the BTS saves a soaking.
