Lalon Fair is a spiritual and cultural festival honoring the legacy of Baul saint Fakir Lalon Shah, a mystic, philosopher, and folk singer from Bengal. The fair celebrates his philosophy of unity beyond religion and caste, and draws Bauls, devotees, scholars, and tourists from across the country and abroad.
The fair takes place in Cheuriya, Kushtia, Bangladesh, where Lalon’s shrine (Akhra) is located. It’s held twice a year:

Dol Purnima (Full Moon in March) – the biggest event.
October (Lalon’s death anniversary) – another large gathering.
Yes. The spirit of Lalon is inclusive. People of all backgrounds—regardless of religion, ethnicity, gender, or nationality—are welcome. This openness reflects Lalon's teachings of universal humanity and love.
No ticket is required for general attendance. The fair is free and open to all. However, if there are special performances or exhibitions organized by institutions, those may occasionally require small entry fees or passes.
