The best hotel in Silom, Bangkok is The Standard, Bangkok Mahanakhon, 100 metres from BTS Chong Nonsi; W Bangkok suits nightlife and SO/ Bangkok looks over Lumphini Park. Silom is where Bangkok does business, so its hotels are built around two kinds of guest: the executive who needs a quiet room, a desk and a short walk to the Skytrain, and the leisure traveller who wants a big pool, a rooftop bar and Lumphini Park in the morning. The best hotels in Silom manage both, and the district has more large five-star properties within a few hundred metres of a train station than almost anywhere else in the city.
Below are 12 hotels in and around Silom, Bang Rak and the Sathorn edge, grouped by what they do best, with addresses, nearest BTS or MRT stations and honest drawbacks. For things to do in the area, see our Bangkok neighbourhoods guide; for evenings out, our Bangkok nightclubs guide covers the clubs near Silom Soi 2.
How we chose these hotels: We shortlisted Silom-area hotels with strong, consistent guest ratings, then checked each one's address, room count, pool and walking distance to the BTS or MRT against hotel and booking-site listings in October 2026. We sorted them by the job they do best (business, leisure, couples, value) and noted a real drawback for each. Room rates change daily, so price bands are relative.
The 12 hotels compared range from a 28-room boutique to towers with hundreds of rooms. The closest sits 100 metres from the BTS, and the highest rooftop is on the 78th floor.

The 12 best hotels in Silom, Bangkok
The Standard, Bangkok Mahanakhon is our top pick, 100 metres from BTS Chong Nonsi. Bangkok Marriott The Surawongse and Pullman Bangkok Hotel G suit business trips, SO/ Bangkok has the Lumphini Park views, The Rose Residence suits couples, and The Quarter Silom is the mid-range value choice. All 12 have a pool.
The Standard, Bangkok Mahanakhon
Our editor's pick fills the lower floors of the King Power Mahanakhon tower at 114 Narathiwat Road, Bang Rak, about 100 metres from BTS Chong Nonsi. The Standard has 155 design-led rooms with bold, playful interiors, a pool, a 24-hour gym and access to Sky Beach, the rooftop bar near the top of the tower, plus the Mahanakhon SkyWalk.
It suits leisure guests who want a scene: the restaurants and bars are busy with locals at weekends. Business travellers will find the location ideal but the lobby lively. Rates sit at the top of the Silom range, in the ultra-luxury band.
Design lovers on a weekend splurge should book a high-floor room for skyline views.
W Bangkok
Leisure and nightlife are the point at W Bangkok, 106 North Sathon Road, about 230 metres from BTS Chong Nonsi. This ultra-luxury hotel has 403 rooms, a sixth-floor WET pool, a spa, four restaurants and four bars, one of them in the restored colonial-era mansion on the grounds.
Expect music in public areas and a party atmosphere at weekends. Leisure guests come for exactly that; travellers on a work trip who want silence should look at the business picks further down.
Groups of friends get the most from it. Ask for a room away from the pool deck if you sleep early.
SO/ Bangkok
Thirty storeys on North Sathorn Road at the corner of Rama IV give SO/ Bangkok (formerly SO Sofitel) the best park views in Silom, straight over Lumphini Park. Rooms facing the park look onto a block of green with the skyline behind it, one of the best urban outlooks in the city. It is priced as luxury and has an infinity pool, spa and gym.
The infinity pool and the park-side rooms get consistent praise, and the hotel is popular with LGBTQ travellers given Silom Soi 4 is nearby. MRT Lumphini is a short walk; BTS Sala Daeng is a longer walk across the junction.
Runners and park lovers should pay for a park-view room, because the city side is far less special.
Banyan Tree Bangkok
Vertigo and Moon Bar, on the 61st-floor roof of Banyan Tree Bangkok, make up one of the city's best-known open-air dining spots. The tall, slim luxury tower on South Sathorn Road, near MRT Lumphini, has 325 rooms, six restaurants, three bars and a pool, and its spa is a long-standing reference in Bangkok.
Rooms are spacious and suite-heavy, which suits longer stays. The Sathorn location puts Silom's nightlife a short taxi, MRT ride or walk away.
Couples and special-occasion dinners fit best. Reserve Vertigo ahead and dress smart casual.
Le Méridien Bangkok
Couples who want nightlife on foot do well at Le Méridien, 40/5 Surawong Road, about 450 metres from BTS Sala Daeng and 400 metres from MRT Sam Yan. The luxury hotel has 282 rooms, a sixth-floor outdoor pool, a spa and three bars, including a rooftop bar.
Its position between Patpong and Silom Soi 4 cuts both ways: excellent for nightlife and dinner, with some street noise on lower floors, so ask for a high floor.
Bangkok Marriott Hotel The Surawongse
The best business choice in this list, the Marriott at 299 Surawong Road, Bang Rak, has 303 rooms and suites, an 18th-floor infinity pool with a pool bar, a 24-hour gym, a spa, an executive lounge and the Yào rooftop bar. It is priced as luxury.
It is the most polished business option on Surawong, with the predictable service of a large chain. BTS Surasak is around a kilometre away, so most business guests use taxis or the hotel car.
Business travellers collecting reward points will feel at home, and executive rooms add lounge access for working breakfasts.
Pullman Bangkok Hotel G
On Silom Road near BTS Chong Nonsi, Pullman Bangkok Hotel G is a five-star lifestyle hotel in the upscale band, combining clean modern rooms with meeting rooms, a pool and a gym. Its restaurants and bar attract a local crowd in the evenings.
It sits halfway between the Sala Daeng nightlife end and the Hindu temple at the western end, so both are within a walk. Rooms vary in size between categories; check before booking if you need a work desk.
Business travellers who also want a good bar downstairs will like it.
Grande Centre Point Surawong Bangkok
Families get the most space at Grande Centre Point Surawong, which shares a complex with the Marriott on Surawong Road, Bang Rak. Its 399 rooms include many with kitchenettes and separate living areas, and there is a sky pool, spa, sauna, steam room and the Bangrak Grill rooftop steakhouse. Prices sit in the upscale band.
Families and stays of a week or more benefit most from the apartment-style rooms, so choose a suite with a kitchenette. As with the Marriott, BTS Surasak is about a kilometre away.
Montien Hotel Surawong Bangkok
The best-value five-star in Silom is the Montien, a classic, long-established hotel at 54 Surawong Road with 475 rooms, an outdoor pool, spa and fitness centre, the Ruenton restaurant and Phar-Ram IV Bistro. It is about 500 metres from BTS Sala Daeng and closer still to MRT Sam Yan, and priced upscale.
It is less fashionable than the newer towers, which is why rates often undercut them. There is no rooftop bar, but Patpong and Soi 4 are moments away.
For five-star space at a lower price, ask for a renovated room.
dusitD2 Samyan Bangkok
The newest build here, dusitD2 Samyan at 333 Si Phraya Road, has 179 rooms, an outdoor pool with pool bar, a rooftop bar called Mimi's, a 24-hour gym and two restaurants. It sits at the northern edge of Bang Rak near the Samyan Mitrtown complex and Chulalongkorn University, in the upscale band.
MRT Sam Yan is about 750 metres away. Younger business travellers on a sensible budget like it, as does anyone combining Silom with trips to Chinatown on the MRT.
The Rose Residence
Just 28 rooms make The Rose Residence, an adults-only upscale boutique at 124 Surawong Road, the smallest hotel on this list. It has a pool set in a tropical garden, saunas, a gym, a bar and the Ruen Urai Thai restaurant in a century-old teak house on the grounds.
It is calm and personal, and very different from the towers around it. BTS Sala Daeng is about a 600-metre walk; MRT Sam Yan is closer.
Couples who want quiet should book early, because with only 28 rooms it fills fast.
The Quarter Silom by UHG
For mid-range money, The Quarter Silom at 12 Suriyawong, off Silom Soi 6, gives you 154 rooms and a big outdoor pool about 500 metres from BTS Sala Daeng, plus a jacuzzi, sauna, steam room, gym and all-day dining.
It offers four-star facilities at mid-range prices, in a side street that is quieter than the main road but still close to Patpong and Thaniya. Value seekers who still want a proper pool should start here.
Business or leisure: how to choose a hotel in Silom
For a work trip, start with the station. Hotels within 300 metres of BTS Chong Nonsi or Sala Daeng let you reach meetings in Sathorn, Silom and Sukhumvit without sitting in traffic. Check for a proper desk, quiet floors and an executive lounge if you take calls early. Sathorn-side hotels are quieter at night; Surawong-side hotels are livelier.
For leisure, the pool and the rooftop matter most. Bangkok afternoons are hot all year, and a good pool turns the 1 pm to 4 pm slump into the best part of the day. Then think about evenings: if you want Patpong, Thaniya and Soi 4 on foot, stay near Sala Daeng or Surawong. If you want quieter nights and Lumphini Park at dawn, choose a park-side hotel.
Mixing both is easy here, which is why Silom works so well for business travellers who add a weekend. Search dates and compare rates on our hotel booking page.
Tips for booking a hotel in Silom
Measure the walk. Check the exact distance to the BTS or MRT, because a kilometre in midday heat feels far longer. Check pool hours as well, since rooftop pools often close at sunset or for private events.
Read the rate rules: business hotels often price weekdays higher and weekends lower, and leisure hotels do the opposite. Rooms over Silom Road or Surawong get traffic noise, while park-facing rooms and high floors are calmer. Many flights leave late at night, so ask about late checkout; executive floors often include it. Navaratri in October and New Year's Eve push up rates and close nearby roads.
The Navaratri procession at the Sri Maha Mariamman temple fell on 20 October in 2026, when Silom Road closed between the Nararom and Surasak junctions from 4 pm and inbound Narathiwat Road from 5 pm; if you arrive that evening, ask the hotel which side to approach from. For transport, the MRT now takes contactless Visa and Mastercard cards at the gates; old stored-value MRT cards stopped working on 1 June 2026. Rooftop bars in the area, such as Sky Bar at Lebua, apply a smart casual code that refuses flip-flops, swimwear and sleeveless shirts for men, so pack one outfit if you plan a hotel bar night. Every foreign visitor also needs the free Thailand Digital Arrival Card, filed at tdac.immigration.go.th within 72 hours of arrival.
