- Dine-in
Zaiyu Hasegawa's two-MICHELIN-star restaurant in Jingumae, serving a playful, homely kaiseki between Gaiemmae and Omotesando. It is top-level Japanese cooking in a relaxed room, at fine-dining prices; it is closed on Sundays.
Den is chef Zaiyu Hasegawa's two Michelin star restaurant in the JIA Building, 2-3-18 Jingumae, in Tokyo's Shibuya ward, between Gaiemmae and Omotesando stations. It serves a playful, homely version of kaiseki, the seasonal Japanese multi-course meal. It suits diners who want top-level Japanese cooking in a relaxed, personal room, and who can book well ahead.
Hasegawa sets out to make kaiseki fun. The best known dish is the Dentucky Fried Chicken, a stuffed chicken wing served in a takeaway-style box printed with the chef's face. Other signatures include a foie gras wafer sandwich and a vegetable salad with a smiling carrot slice. Guests often get a warm welcome at the door, and the mood is easygoing. Plan on more than two hours.
The official website does not publish the course price, so ask when you call.
Den holds two Michelin stars. It ranked number 22 on Asia's 50 Best Restaurants 2025, number 51 on the extended 2026 list, and number 32 on The World's 50 Best Restaurants 2024.
