Modern Qatari sharing plates on the fourth floor of the National Museum of Qatar, with a Bib Gourmand and a terrace looking along the Corniche. Museum visitors make up much of the crowd; it is closed on Tuesdays.
Jiwan is the contemporary Qatari restaurant on the fourth floor of the National Museum of Qatar, Jean Nouvel's desert-rose building at the eastern end of Doha's Corniche. It holds a MICHELIN Bib Gourmand and suits museum visitors and anyone wanting modern Qatari sharing plates with a terrace view.
Head Chef Julien Guilloret reworks traditional Qatari and wider Middle Eastern dishes with regional spices and produce from local farms. Plates are made for sharing, and the kitchen offers a generous set menu, which Michelin rates as very good value, or a longer tasting menu. Michelin singles out the slow-cooked lamb shoulder with date and fennel. The name Jiwan means perfect pearl.
The dining room is calm and modern. The terrace looks over the port and the Corniche and is the place to sit in the cooler months, roughly November to March. The National Museum Metro station is next door, and taxis stop at the main entrance, so a late lunch after the galleries is easy to arrange.
Jiwan kept its Bib Gourmand in the Michelin Guide Doha 2026, a second year in a row, and Guilloret took over the kitchen in November 2025. The guide also points diners to the cumin madroba, a slow-cooked rice dish that Qatari families treat as comfort food.
