Place Vendome Mall

Place Vendome is a shopping mall in Lusail, the planned city north of Doha. It is named after the Place Vendome in Paris and uses a French-inspired architectural style.

The mall opened on 15 April 2022, the year Qatar hosted the FIFA World Cup, when Lusail Stadium nearby staged the final. It is one of the largest malls in Qatar, with a mix of high street brands, luxury fashion in a dedicated wing, a hypermarket, restaurants and cafes.

An indoor canal runs through part of the mall, and the outdoor fountain square at the centre stages a water and light show in the evenings. Hotel accommodation is part of the complex.

Entry to the mall is free. It is easiest to reach by car or taxi, and the Lusail tram and metro network serves the wider area. Evenings and weekends are the busiest times.

How big is Place Vendome? Visit Qatar lists about 580 high-end and mid-range shops across four floors, with many global fashion brands. Two five-star hotels connect to the mall, Le Royal Meridien and Palais Vendome. Cafes and restaurants line the canal, and food courts serve quicker meals on the upper levels. The complex stands in Wadi Al Gaeya, part of the Lusail Entertainment City district.

The canal running through the building and out to the square carries the dancing fountains, which play on the hour every hour from 7 pm to 11 pm. A 3D laser show is projected on the facade each night. Seats at the canal-side cafes give the best view, and they fill fast on Thursday and Friday evenings.

Opening hours and getting there. According to Visit Qatar, the mall opens from 9 am to 11 pm from Sunday to Wednesday and from 9 am to 1 am from Thursday to Saturday. Shop hours can be shorter, and timings change during Ramadan. By public transport, take the Doha Metro Red Line to Legtaifiya, then the Lusail Tram Orange Line to Lusail Central, which stops by the mall. Parking is free and plentiful.
