Plage de Cavalière is a 1.3 km beach of fine golden sand in Cavalière, a seaside district about 7 km east of the centre of Le Lavandou in the Var. It lies between Cap Nègre and the Pointe du Layet, with the pine-covered Massif des Maures behind. It suits families and water-sports fans, and locals nickname it "La Sportive".
The Le Lavandou tourist office lists Cavalière among the largest of the commune's twelve beaches. It faces south-east and south-west, and pines behind the sand give some shade. The beach holds the Blue Flag. Free public sand alternates with private beach restaurants that rent loungers, among them Les Sables d'Or, Noca Plage and La Voile de Cavalière. The bay is fairly sheltered and the water usually calm in summer, and the beach is supervised in season.
Cavalière has more water sports than any other Lavandou beach. A sailing school opens from 09:00, and operators offer parasailing, jet skis, water skiing and pedal boat hire, with paddleboarding and kayaking around the bay. Beach volleyball is played on the sand.
The naturist cove of Le Layet lies about 500 m west across the rocks, with its own restaurant, Chez Jo. Pramousquier is the next bay to the east, about 1.5 km away, and Aiguebelle about 3 km back toward Le Lavandou.
