Quiet cove
A small, calm naturist beach below the coast road.
Layet is a small naturist cove at Cavalière in Le Lavandou, where reddish sand sits between pines and rocks near the Pointe du Layet. Access is free and open at any hour, so it suits naturists and travellers looking for a quiet swim on the Var coast. Half a day is typical.
Plage du Layet, also known as the Anse du Boucanier, is a small naturist cove at Cavalière, about 6 km from the centre of Le Lavandou on the Mediterranean coast of the Var. The Le Lavandou tourist office lists it among the town's twelve beaches and states that nudism is tolerated there, so it suits naturists and swimmers looking for a quiet, wooded cove.
The beach has fine, golden sand and clear water, and it is ringed by dense vegetation of pines, eucalyptus and mimosa next to the Pointe du Layet. It is small and quiet. Reaching it from the Cavalière side means crossing the rocks that separate the two beaches.
Nudity is permitted, and visitors are expected to respect the naturist character of the cove. The usual etiquette applies: give people space, keep cameras pointed at the sea and leave the cove as quiet as you found it.
The beach restaurant, Chez Jo, serves regional dishes. Regional tourism listings gave its 2026 season as 18 April to 4 October, open daily. For more choice, the main beach at Cavalière, about 1 km away, has several restaurants, along with hotels, holiday rentals and campsites in the district.
