In short

Terminal 21 Pattaya is an airport-themed mall at the dolphin roundabout in North Pattaya, opened in 2018, with each floor dressed as a world city, a cinema and the low-cost Pier 21 food court. Entry is free. It opens at 11:00 and closes at 22:00 Monday to Thursday and 23:00 Friday to Sunday. Shoppers and families usually spend two to three hours.

The mall opened on 19 October 2018 at the corner of North Pattaya Road and Second Road, beside the dolphin statue roundabout at the northern end of the city. It is about a kilometre inland from Pattaya Beach.

Like its sister mall on Sukhumvit Road in Bangkok, it is designed to feel like an airport terminal, with each floor dressed as a different destination. A huge model aircraft at the front of the building signals the theme from the street. The Grande Centre Point Pattaya, a 32 storey hotel tower, is part of the same development.

Six retail floors are themed after cities such as Paris, London, Tokyo and San Francisco, with replica landmarks, photo spots and decorated restrooms that many visitors find worth a look in themselves. Shops range from international fashion chains to small Thai brands and souvenir stalls.

The Pier 21 food court on an upper floor is a major draw, with Thai and international dishes sold at low prices from a long row of stalls. The building also has a Foodland supermarket, an SFX cinema and many restaurants.

Entry is free, and the mall keeps standard shopping hours from late morning into the late evening. Weekday afternoons are quieter than weekends, and the air conditioning makes it a useful break in the midday heat. Two to three hours covers the themed floors and a meal; Walking Street is about 4 kilometres south, so take a songthaew between the two.

One of four malls with floors themed on world cities

Terminal 21 Pattaya is one of four malls in the chain, all built on the same idea of themed floors named after world cities. The first, Terminal 21 Asok in Bangkok, opened on 11 October 2011 with ten retail floors above Asok BTS and Sukhumvit MRT stations. Terminal 21 Korat in Nakhon Ratchasima has seven floors and a skydeck, and Terminal 21 Rama III in Bangkok opened on 20 October 2022 with nine floors and parking for 1,658 cars.

The Pattaya branch shares the Foodland and SF group cinema anchors with Korat, and like Asok it is paired with a Grande Centre Point hotel. If you have already seen Asok, the Pattaya floors cover different cities and are worth a look for the photo spots alone.

The chain is run by Siam Retail Development, with Centre Point Hospitality handling the hotels, under L&H Property. The roundabout beside the mall is known locally as Pla Lo Ma, after its dolphin statue, and it is the easiest landmark to give a songthaew driver. Shared baht buses run along Second Road toward Central Pattaya and the beach, so you can head south without booking a taxi.
