Thepprasit Night Market is a large evening street market on Thepprasit Road in south Pattaya, between Jomtien and central Pattaya and a short taxi or songthaew ride from the beaches. It suits visitors who want cheap clothes, souvenirs and Thai street food in a market that local residents use too.
The market is mainly a weekend event, with stalls open on Friday, Saturday and Sunday from about 5 pm until around 11 pm. Published times vary between listings, and a separate market on the same road also uses the Thepprasit name, so check the location on a map before you set out. Saturday after dark is the busiest time; arriving around opening time gives you space to walk the rows before the crowds build.
Rows of stalls sell clothing, shoes, bags, toys, phone accessories, household goods and souvenirs, often for less than the malls charge. A large part of the market is given over to food: grilled meats, seafood, noodle dishes, Thai desserts, fruit shakes and snacks from different regions of Thailand. Tables are set up between the food stalls, and live music and games sometimes play in the evening. The atmosphere is more local than at the markets near Walking Street, and families come for dinner and a browse.
There is no entry fee. Most stalls take cash only, so bring small notes. Prices for clothing and souvenirs are open to polite bargaining; food prices are fixed.
