Norse Atlantic Airways is a Norwegian long-haul airline founded in February 2021 by Bjørn Tore Larsen and headquartered in Arendal. It flew its first service, Oslo to New York JFK, on 14 June 2022, and operates Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners only. A UK subsidiary flies part of the programme from London Gatwick.
Thailand is now the heart of its winter schedule. Norse flies to Bangkok Suvarnabhumi from Oslo, Stockholm Arlanda, London Gatwick and Manchester, and to Phuket from Oslo and Stockholm. All of these are winter-season routes. For winter 2026/27 the airline announced up to five weekly Bangkok flights each from Oslo and Stockholm, up to two weekly Phuket flights from each, four weekly Manchester to Bangkok flights from December 2026, and a new three-times-weekly London Gatwick to Phuket route. Phuket first appeared on the network on 4 December 2025, a few weeks after Stockholm joined on 28 October. Berlin had already ended on 26 September 2025, and Paris Charles de Gaulle and Los Angeles were dropped on 14 April 2026. Norse cut 75 administrative jobs in May 2026 while moving towards a model built more on charter and aircraft leasing. It ended its wet-lease work for IndiGo in July, and from October 2026 dropped all its US routes except Gatwick to Orlando. Two of its 787-9s are being wet-leased to Pakistan International Airlines from November 2026. The Thailand winter programme continues alongside these changes.
Norse has no Bangladesh service. Passengers starting in Dhaka can fly to Suvarnabhumi on Biman or US-Bangla and join a Norse flight to Europe there; on separate tickets that means collecting bags and checking in again.
Norse raised NOK 1.275 billion in a private placement in March 2021 and listed on the Oslo stock exchange (ticker NORSE) in April 2021, bringing in a further NOK 1.4 billion. An affiliate of Larsen held 28% of the shares as of July 2026. The UK subsidiary, Norse Atlantic UK, was set up on 10 May 2021 and received its UK air operator certificate on 28 September 2022. The company reported its first quarterly net profit, US$1.6 million, in the third quarter of 2023, and closed 2025 with revenue of US$734 million and a net loss of US$61.9 million. Eivind Roald became president and CEO in November 2025, the same year key functions and the operations control centre moved to Riga in Latvia. Since July 2022 Norse has sold connections with easyJet, Norwegian and other airlines through the Dohop platform.
