Sangrampunji Waterfall, also called the Mayabi waterfall, is a border fall about 1 km west of Jaflong Zero Point in Gowainghat upazila, Sylhet district, Bangladesh. It suits Jaflong visitors who want a short boat ride and walk to a monsoon cascade below the Dawki hills.

At the foot of the Khasi and Jaintia hills near Jaflong

The fall sits at the foot of the Khasi and Jaintia hills, about 62 km from Sylhet city; Jaflong itself is about 56 km by road. Its stream comes down from the Dawki hills on the Indian side. Most sources place the visitor area in Bangladesh, though some writers place the fall itself just inside India, so stay where BGB personnel allow.

Several streams over dark rock

In the rains, water falls in several separate streams over a dark rock face with the steep green Dawki hills behind. The stream then runs through boulders toward the Piyain River, whose bed of rounded stones is Jaflong's best-known feature.

Betel growers in the Khasia village opposite

Opposite the fall is a Khasia village where most families grow betel leaf and betel nut. The Dawki River enters Bangladesh at Jaflong, and the area lies in the Piyain basin. Visits are welcome; take photos of people only with permission.
