Parikunda is a narrow forest waterfall of about 150 feet inside Madhabkunda Eco Park in Barlekha, Moulvibazar, a 15-minute walk upstream on a wet stone path from the much busier Madhabkunda falls. Access follows the eco park's gate, whose hours and fees we could not confirm. It adds roughly an hour to a Madhabkunda visit and rewards those after a quieter spot.
Parikunda Waterfall is a narrow forest fall of about 150 feet inside Madhabkunda Eco Park, Barlekha upazila, Moulvibazar district, Bangladesh, a short walk upstream from Madhabkunda Waterfall. It suits visitors to Madhabkunda who are willing to walk an extra 15 minutes on a wet stone path for a quieter spot.
The fall sits on a side stream in the Patharia hills, close to the main Madhabkunda fall. Most park visitors never walk far enough to see it. Pari means fairy and kunda means pool.
Water drops down a steep, narrow cliff in a long strand. Travel sources put the height at about 150 feet; no official measurement was found. The gorge is shaded and enclosed by forest, and in the rainy season spray hangs around the pool at the base.
From the eco park road the route passes a small Shiva temple and goes down a staircase to the stream, then follows a stone path along the water to the fall, about 10 to 15 minutes from Madhabkunda. The stones are wet and uneven and the stream has to be crossed in places, so wear shoes with good grip.
A mid-range restaurant at Madhabkunda charges higher prices, so some visitors bring their own food. Two district council bungalows and two hotels stand near the park and need advance booking. Sylhet, Moulvibazar and Sreemangal have more choice.
