Ruilui Para
Start from the resort area of Sajek.
Komlok is a forest waterfall in the valley below Ruilui Para in Sajek, Rangamati, reached by a demanding trek down a rocky, slippery stream bed from the top of the ridge. Any entry fee is unconfirmed. Start in the morning so the climb back finishes before dark. It suits visitors staying at least a night in Sajek, and the round trip takes about five hours.
Komlok Waterfall is a hill-stream fall below Ruilui Para in Sajek Valley, Baghaichhari upazila, Rangamati district, Bangladesh. It suits visitors staying at least a night in Sajek who want a half-day trek beyond the viewpoints and can handle about five hours on slippery ground.
The fall lies in the valley below Ruilui Para, Sajek's main settlement where most resorts stand.
The route drops steeply off the ridge and then follows a jhiri, a rocky hill stream, down to the fall. Much of it means stepping from boulder to boulder in the water, with a few short climbs on clay where the stream narrows. Each way takes about two to two and a half hours, and the climb back to Ruilui Para is the hardest part.
Komlok, known locally as Pidam Toisa or Sikam Toisa, drops down a dark, near-vertical rock wall into a small pool, with ferns and moss on the sides of the gorge. It is not huge, but the setting is enclosed and green, and the descent passes a chain of smaller cascades and pools. In the rains the flow is strong and the rocks slick; in winter it thins to a ribbon and the walk is easier.
No entry fee has been recorded. Hire a guide through your Sajek resort, since the stream route branches. Wear shoes or sandals with strong grip and clothes that dry quickly. Start in the morning and begin the return well before sunset. The monsoon gives the most water and the drier months a safer trail. Konglak Para, near Ruilui, and Hazachora Waterfall on the Sajek to Dighinala road make easier add-ons. There is nothing on the trail, so carry water; avoid loud noise and climbing wet rock at the top of the fall.
