Keokradong
The trail crosses one of the country's highest peaks.
Jadipai is one of Bangladesh's widest waterfalls, a broad curtain of water over black rock below Keokradong in Ruma, Bandarban, reached only on foot through Bawm villages. Any entry fee is unconfirmed, and travel restrictions have closed parts of Ruma since October 2022, so check access first. With no gate, walk in daylight. Fit trekkers need two days from Bandarban, sleeping in basic cottages.
Jadipai Waterfall is a broad hill fall in Ruma upazila, Bandarban, Bangladesh, on the south-eastern flank of Keokradong, one of the country's highest hills. It suits fit trekkers on a two-day Keokradong route, and access depends on travel restrictions that have closed parts of Ruma since October 2022.
The fall lies below Jadipai Para, a Bawm village on the ridge about 1.5 km from Keokradong, and its stream runs on toward the Sangu.
Several hill streams join above the fall and spill across a wide shelf of black rock in an even sheet. Travel sources give a height of roughly 200 feet, but Jadipai is better known for its width, which is unusual in Bangladesh. The base is a jumble of boulders with no deep pool, and the spray keeps ferns and moss green all year.
Jadipai became known in the 2000s, when the Keokradong walk became the standard Bandarban adventure. The usual route goes by jeep from Bandarban to Ruma Bazar, about 48 km, then on to Bogalake, followed by a trek over Keokradong to Pasing Para and Jadipai Para. From Pasing Para it is about 30 minutes to Jadipai Para and another 30 to 40 minutes down to the fall.
That last descent is the hardest part: a steep, narrow path that turns to mud in the rains, and the climb back takes noticeably longer. Both villages have small churches and simple homes where trekkers rest.
