Seasons, hotels and day trips
Choosing a Holiday Package from Dhaka
Almost every holiday package from Dhaka is at its best between November and February, when Bangladesh, Thailand and the Gulf are dry and cooler. The packages come in three styles: fixed departures with flights, group trips, and short guided days out with a local guide from $20. Each package states the hotel standard and area in advance, with the exact hotel name confirmed shortly before departure.
bookingMentor offers a wide range of vacation packages, from beach escapes and family holidays to adventure tours and luxury retreats. With trusted partners and real-time updates you can compare exclusive deals and top-rated destinations in one place, from a weekend in Paris or a tropical escape in Bali to a cultural tour across Japan.
When each trip is at its best
Every package page names its best season, and they cluster in the same few months. That is also when departures fill first, so the winter dates are the ones to book early.
For most of the packages above that means November to February. Beach and Gulf trips stay pleasant into March, and city day tours run all year, though October to March is the most comfortable time for them too.
One exception runs the other way: Sylhet's swamp forest is best from June to October, when the trees stand in floodwater and you see it from a boat.
Day trips and short treks with local guides
The local guides listed on bookingMentor run their own short trips, which suit travellers who already have a hotel and only want a day out.
They are among the trips shown above, last from a few hours to two days, and cost from $20 to $120 per person. A guided day in the Sundarbans is the option if you cannot spare three days for the boat safari.
What to carry on the Bangladesh trips
The domestic trips ask for identity documents in each traveller's name. Bring your NID or passport on the Cox's Bazar trip for the flights and hotel check-in, and on the Sundarbans safari, where the forest permit is issued in your name. Children carry a birth certificate. Foreign visitors are welcome on all of them but pay higher entry fees: at Lalbagh Fort and Ahsan Manzil on the Old Dhaka tour, for the parks around Cox's Bazar, and for the Sundarbans forest permit, where the difference is added to the package price.
Hotels in the Package Destinations
Each package page states its hotel standard and area; the exact hotel is confirmed 15 days before departure on the trips abroad and 7 days before on Cox's Bazar. Adding a night before or after the tour? These are the hotels you can book in the same cities.

The Cox's Bazar trip includes the flights, a 4-star hotel near the beach and a Marine Drive day, while the Sundarbans trip covers the AC bus from Dhaka, two nights on the boat and all meals on board.

Prices are per person, usually based on two people sharing a twin room; on the Sundarbans boat, berths are in shared cabins. Solo travellers pay a single room supplement on most hotel-based packages; the package page states it.
On the trips abroad, a child aged 2 to 11 sharing the parents' bed pays 75% of the adult price, or 85% with an extra bed. On the Cox's Bazar trip it is 70% sharing, and on the Sundarbans boat trip children under 4 go free and those aged 4 to 10 pay 75%. Infant prices are quoted on request, and each package page sets out its full child policy.

Day tours can be cancelled free up to 48 hours before they start. The Refunds & Cancellation Policy explains how to request a refund.
