Manama to Dhaka flight guide
Flights from Manama to Dhaka run nonstop from Bahrain International Airport (BAH) to Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (DAC) on Gulf Air, the only airline on the route. The Boeing 787-9 covers 3,999 km in about 5 hours 15 minutes. Bangladeshis working in Bahrain fill much of the cabin, alongside passengers connecting through Gulf Air's Bahrain hub.
Gulf Air flies every day of the week with two flight numbers. GF250 leaves Bahrain at 00:40 on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays and lands in Dhaka at 08:55. GF248 departs at 10:45 on Tuesdays, Fridays and Sundays and arrives at 19:00. The night flight saves a day of leave; the daytime one avoids a sleepless night before landing.
The checked allowance is 23 kg, plus 7 kg in the cabin. If you are bringing more, buy extra weight from Gulf Air before the day you fly; it costs more at the check-in desk.
Clocks jump three hours forward on the way, as Bahrain keeps UTC+3 and Dhaka UTC+6.
Hazrat Shahjalal is in Kurmitola, in the north of Dhaka. Uber and Pathao both work in the city, and pre-paid taxis are available at arrivals. Traffic is the main variable: at rush hour the drive to Gulshan or Motijheel slows to a crawl, which matters for the 19:00 arrival.
Dhaka is at its most comfortable from November to February, when the air is cooler and dry. The monsoon arrives around June and lasts into September.
Getting to Bahrain International Airport is simple. Buses run 24 hours a day to destinations across Bahrain from the bus station in the arrivals area, Bahraini taxis wait in Car Park B, and app-based taxis pick up outside Gate 1. Online check-in passengers drop bags at the baggage drop-off counters. At the Dhaka end, Hazrat Shahjalal's third terminal is due to soft-open on 16 December 2026 and to reach full operations in March or April 2027.

Getting there
It sits on Muharraq Island, right next to Manama, so from the capital it is a short drive across to the island. Give yourself a margin anyway, since traffic onto Muharraq can build up at busy times.
With cartons and suitcases, take a car. The pre-paid taxi kiosk sits near the international arrivals exit, and ride apps such as Uber, Pathao, Obhai and Shohoz also pick up at the airport. Book a car when you have heavy luggage; a bike has no room for it.
General
Falcon Gold is Gulf Air's name for its single premium cabin, which mixes what used to be first and business class. On the 787-9 it sits at the front, and one layout seats 26 there with 256 in economy. It is the cabin to ask about if you want to sleep properly on the way home.
Yes. Falconflyer is Gulf Air's loyalty scheme, and the Dhaka route earns miles like any other Gulf Air sector. Join before booking and put the membership number in the reservation so the miles post without any follow-up.
Bahrain keeps UTC+3 all year and Bangladesh UTC+6, so Dhaka is three hours ahead. When you tell family at home your landing time, give it in Dhaka time, not the Bahrain time you see on the departure board.
When both flights are on one Gulf Air ticket, the bag is tagged to Dhaka at your first airport and you collect it only at Shahjalal. Two separate bookings break that chain, so you would need to enter Bahrain, reclaim the case and check in again.
All passenger flights now use the new terminal that opened on 28 January 2021, replacing the old hall. If you are travelling with heavy boxes, join the queue early, since weighing and re-packing at the counter can take a while.
No. Dhaka is the only Bangladeshi city on Gulf Air's network. Families in Chattogram or Sylhet usually add a domestic flight from Shahjalal or travel on by train or road after landing.
Look for one-stop itineraries through another Gulf hub with its own Dhaka service. They add a few hours and a second boarding, but they often have seats when the Bahrain nonstop is sold out around Eid.
Visa & documents
Bangladeshi citizens can apply for a Bahrain eVisa online or take a visa on arrival, which covers a stay of up to 14 days. Confirm the current conditions before the trip, as Gulf states adjust these rules and the airline will check the paperwork in Dhaka.
