Dhaka to Manama flight guide
Flights from Dhaka to Manama run nonstop from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (DAC) to Bahrain International Airport (BAH) on Gulf Air, the only airline on the route. The Boeing 787-9 covers 3,999 km in about 5 hours 35 minutes. Bahrain is a small country with a large Bangladeshi workforce, and workers fill most of the seats.
Gulf Air flies daily under two flight numbers. GF251 leaves Dhaka at 09:55 on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays and lands at 12:30 local time. GF249 departs at 20:00 on Tuesdays, Fridays and Sundays and arrives at 22:35. Bahrain is three hours behind Dhaka.
Gulf Air's allowance on this route is 23 kg checked and 7 kg in the cabin. Pack to that weight at home; topping up at the Shahjalal counter costs more.
Bahrain International Airport is on Muharraq Island, linked to Manama by causeways, and its current passenger terminal opened in January 2021. The ride into the capital is short. Visitors usually stay in Seef or along Bahrain Bay.
Your Bahrain work or visit visa needs to be approved before you leave Dhaka. Summer heat from June to September is fierce, so if you are starting a new job then, drink plenty of water and keep out of the midday sun for the first few days. The evening GF249 arrival avoids landing in the hottest part of the day.
Arriving at Bahrain International Airport, you can take a 24-hour bus from the bus station in the arrivals area, a Bahraini taxi from Car Park B or an app-based taxi from outside Gate 1. Free Wi-Fi covers the terminal. In Dhaka, departures may move to Hazrat Shahjalal's third terminal, which is due for a soft opening on 16 December 2026 and full operations in March or April 2027.
