Air Arabia Abu Dhabi's Airbus A320 operates 3L061 on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays, departing at 13:20 and arriving at 20:00. Monday, Wednesday and Friday therefore offer a choice of a night or an afternoon flight.

Yes. US-Bangla also includes 30 kg in the hold, the same as Biman, while Air Arabia Abu Dhabi includes 20 kg. All of them allow 7 kg in the cabin. Anyone carrying a full load of gifts home has a few airlines to choose between before extra weight has to be bought.
Taxis, CNG auto-rickshaws and ride-hailing cars wait outside arrivals. The road runs north along the port and Patenga before reaching the commercial districts. Agree the fare before you set off in a taxi or CNG, and expect the trip to slow down near the port gates.
Yes, two ways. The Karnaphuli Tunnel runs under the river from South Patenga, the airport's side of the city, to Anwara on the far bank, a shortcut for drivers heading south. Or go by rail: the Chittagong to Cox's Bazar line has carried passenger trains since December 2023.
Getting there
Biman's Boeing 737-800 has 12 business seats at the front and 150 in economy. Air Arabia Abu Dhabi's Airbus A320 is all economy, with 168 seats. If you want a wider seat for the trip home, Biman is the airline to check.
All airlines at Abu Dhabi have used Terminal A since November 2023, so Biman, US-Bangla and Air Arabia Abu Dhabi all check in under one roof. If an older ticket or a relative still calls it Abu Dhabi International, it is the same airport, renamed Zayed International.
Yes. Chattogram railway station, at Battoli on Station Road, is where Dhaka trains such as the Dhaka-Chittagong Mail start. Book seats in advance, particularly around Eid when trains are full. A budget hotel near the station, one of those under Where to stay, is handy if you arrive late and want the first train the next day.
The five-star choice under Where to stay is in Lalkhan Bazar, and a hotel near GEC has a pool on its roof. For something simpler, two hotels are in the Agrabad business district, and there is a boutique option near GEC Circle.
Booking
Two. Bangladesh runs on UTC+6 and the Emirates on UTC+4, and neither moves its clocks in summer. Add the two hours to the flying time when telling family in Chattogram when to wait at the arrivals gate.
The weeks before the two Eids, when large numbers of workers fly home to celebrate with their families. Seats on the nonstop flights go early and the cheaper fare classes disappear first. Book as soon as your leave is confirmed if you plan to travel at Eid.
Visa & documents
Gold above the duty-free amount, more than a personal number of phones or laptops, and anything bought for resale must be declared. Use the red channel if you are unsure. Keep shop receipts from the UAE in your hand luggage, as officers may ask for them when assessing duty.
