Cairo to Dhaka flight guide
Flights from Cairo to Dhaka run nonstop from Cairo International Airport (CAI) to Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (DAC) on EgyptAir, the only nonstop between Egypt and Bangladesh. The Boeing 787-9 covers 5,824 km in about 7 hours 10 minutes. Its regulars include Bangladeshi students heading home from Al-Azhar University and passengers who have connected in Cairo from EgyptAir's network in Europe and Africa.
The flight leaves from Terminal 3 at Cairo International, the airline's home base, so a connection there stays under one roof. The 787-9 is a wide-body with a business cabin up front, and economy passengers get 23 kg of checked baggage.
Hazrat Shahjalal sits in Kurmitola on the city's northern edge. Once you are through immigration and out with your bags, the expressway starting at Kawla, just south of the airport, gets a car to Farmgate in about 10 minutes when the road is clear. Old Dhaka and Motijheel take longer whatever route the driver picks.
Carry a passport valid for at least six months.

Cancellations & changes
Yes. Egypt moves its clocks to UTC+3 from late April to late October and returns to UTC+2 for the cooler months, while Bangladesh stays on UTC+6. Dhaka is therefore three hours ahead in the Egyptian summer and four hours ahead in winter.
General
EgyptAir has been a Star Alliance member since 11 July 2008, so the miles can go to EgyptAir Plus or to another member's programme, whichever you already collect in. Add the number when booking, and check that your fare class earns on your chosen scheme.
EgyptAir's 787-9 seats 30 in business and 279 in economy. That is a small premium cabin for a long route with a single airline, so if you want one of those seats, book early; upgrades at the airport are rarely available.
Make sure your Egyptian residence permit will still be valid on the date you plan to return, or renew it first. Pack books and course notes carefully, since paper is heavy and 23 kg fills quickly. Keep your enrolment letter in the hand bag in case an officer asks.
Yes. EgyptAir feeds the Dhaka service from its African and European routes, and on a single ticket your case is labelled through to Shahjalal. The connection stays inside Terminal 3. Bangladeshi passport holders still need an Egyptian transit visa for the stop, arranged in advance.
EgyptAir: 23 kg checked, 7 kg cabin. Promotional fares can include less, so check the fare rules before you pay.

Getting there
The airport is in Heliopolis, north-east of the city, so a metered white taxi or an Uber is the usual way. Cairo traffic is unpredictable at most hours, so build in a generous cushion before check-in closes.
One-stop journeys via a Gulf hub are the usual fallback, since several Gulf airports have flights to both Cairo and Dhaka. They take longer overall but give more choice of days, which matters when the single nonstop is full.
MRT Line 6 runs from Uttara North, a short ride from the airport, south through Farmgate to Motijheel. It avoids the worst of the traffic if you carry only a backpack or a small case. With full 23 kg luggage, a car straight from the terminal is far less hassle.
Yes. CTA and Mwasalat Mirs buses run between the city and the Cairo Airport Bus Terminal, with stops including Tahrir Square and Abbasia, and a shuttle carries passengers on to the terminals. It is the cheapest way out, but slow with heavy bags, so leave a wide margin before check-in for Terminal 3.
