App cabs and prepaid taxis use the expressway; the Pushpak Airport Liner coaches of the Telangana State Road Transport Corporation are the cheap option for a carer travelling ahead with luggage. The airport has one integrated terminal, so there is no risk of the wrong building, but make sure the driver heads to Shamshabad and not the old Begumpet airfield.
Visa rules and the 30-minute time gap
Bangladeshi passport holders clear immigration at Hazrat Shahjalal on the passport alone. Indian and other foreign visitors should check Bangladesh's visa rules well before the flight. Dhaka is 30 minutes ahead of Hyderabad, worth remembering for medicine reminders on the travel day.
Terminal 3 timeline and the Kawla expressway ride
Terminal 3 had a ceremonial partial opening on 7 October 2023 and is scheduled to start a soft opening on 16 December 2026, reaching full operations around March or April 2027. The raised expressway from Kawla to Farmgate spares a recovering patient the stop-start traffic below, and BRTC buses use it for a family member travelling separately. For Sylhet, Air Astra, Novoair and US-Bangla fly from the single-storey domestic terminal to the left of the international halls, and Airport Railway Station is directly outside for trains to other districts.
