Jashore to Dhaka flight guide
Flights from Jashore to Dhaka connect Jashore Airport (JSR) with Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (DAC) in about 45 minutes, nonstop over 146 km. Both airlines fly it, US-Bangla Airlines and Biman Bangladesh Airlines, both on turboprops. It is the fastest way to the capital from Jashore and Khulna.
The timetable is thin. US-Bangla flies BS122 at 10:45 and BS130 at 18:35 on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. Biman's BG468 leaves at 20:15 on Tuesdays, Fridays and Sundays. Nothing flies on Mondays, and on the days with only the Biman flight you arrive in Dhaka after 21:00.
Not everyone on board lives in Jashore. With no working airport of its own, Khulna sends its air travellers here too, a drive of roughly 70 km up the highway to the airfield at Arabpur on the western edge of town. Allow for traffic on that road and get to the terminal well before check-in closes.
You land at the domestic terminal of Hazrat Shahjalal. Anyone continuing abroad the same day should leave a generous gap, because on separate tickets you collect your bags and check in again on the international side. With the late Biman arrival, an overnight in Uttara is often the safer plan before a morning long-haul flight.
No passport is needed for the flight itself: a National ID card does for Bangladeshi citizens, and foreign visitors show their passport. Both airlines include 20 kg of checked baggage.

Timing & weather
More than the 70 km suggests. Traffic on the highway is hard to predict, and a single hold-up can eat your margin. Set off early enough to arrive with an hour in hand, and keep the airline's number with you in case you are delayed on the road.
General
Yes. Kolkata is about 80 km from the border, and once you are through immigration at Benapole, Jashore Airport is roughly 42 km away. Allow for queues at the land port, then book a later flight so a slow crossing does not cost you the seat.
Yes. NOVOAIR and US-Bangla both fly from Jashore to Cox's Bazar, so a beach trip from Jashore or Khulna does not have to go through the capital. Search those sectors early, since they carry fewer seats overall than the Dhaka route.
Getting there
It opened on 31 July 2023 with eight check-in counters and room for 1 million passengers a year. It is compact and quick to move through, so check-in and security rarely take long on this route.
Yes. The 8,000 ft runway also serves BAF Matiur Rahman Base and the Bangladesh Air Force Academy's flight training. Civil and military traffic operate side by side, and you may see trainer aircraft as you taxi out.
Yes. Biman and US-Bangla both connect the two cities, which helps traders and port workers from the south-west avoid a change of plane in Dhaka.
US-Bangla flies the ATR 72-600 and Biman the Dash 8-400. They differ by only a couple of seats and both sell economy only, so your choice usually comes down to the departure that fits your day.
20 kg on a standard economy ticket with either airline, plus 7 kg of hand luggage. Promotional fares may cut the hold allowance, so confirm before you pay if you are bringing produce or gifts to relatives in Dhaka.
About 6 km west of downtown, at Arabpur. A rickshaw or CNG covers the distance quickly, and hotels in the centre can usually arrange a car if you are carrying heavy bags.
Not by Dhaka standards. It handled fewer than two hundred thousand passengers in 2023, a modest number for a building designed to handle far more, so it seldom feels crowded.
