Air China flies nonstop from Beijing Capital International Airport (PEK) to Phuket International Airport (HKT) on Thailand's Andaman coast. The 3,991 km flight takes about 5 hours 30 minutes, and in winter 2026/27 Air China flies it up to three times a day, a sign of how many northern Chinese travellers head for Phuket in the cold months.
Air China is the only airline on the route. It is a full-service airline, so economy fares normally include a checked bag and a meal; request special meals at least 24 hours ahead.
Morning or midday departures on CA691 and CA821
Between 16 November 2026 and 20 February 2027, Air China runs three daily flights except Sundays. The morning CA691 leaves Beijing at 08:40 or 09:15, depending on the day, and lands in Phuket at 14:00 or 14:35, on a Boeing 737 MAX 8. CA821 leaves at 11:10 and arrives at 16:30 on an Airbus A330-300, the roomiest option. CA797 departs at 16:00 and lands at 21:20, again on a 737 MAX 8. The morning flights get you to the beach by mid-afternoon.
Capital airport and the express from Dongzhimen
Go to Capital, in the north-east, and not Daxing in the far south. The Capital Airport Express from Dongzhimen is the fastest way out, and taxis serve every terminal. Arrive about three hours before departure.
Arrival card and the 60-country visa exemption
Entry rules for Thailand depend on your nationality, and every foreign visitor completes the Thailand Digital Arrival Card online within 72 hours before landing; our Thailand visa page has the details. From 15 September 2026, visitors from the 60 countries and territories on Thailand's exemption list can stay 30 days; the 60-day exemption has ended.
The airport is at the island's northern tip. AOT lists the Airport Bus Express from the arrivals exit to Patong Beach between 08:00 and 20:00, and an hourly bus to Phuket Town between 08:15 and 20:15, so all but the 21:20 arrival can use a bus. The Phuket Smart Bus leaves from the domestic terminal for the west-coast beaches, through Kamala, Karon and Kata to Rawai. Minivans, taxis and first-floor car rental cover the rest; allow about an hour to Patong or Kata.
Setting watches back and flying on from Phuket
Set your watch back one hour (China UTC+8, Thailand UTC+7). For onward trips, domestic flights link Phuket with Bangkok, where you can connect across Asia, for example to South Asia from Suvarnabhumi (see Bangkok to Dhaka flights).
