Flying from Doha to Bangkok

In short

Qatar Airways flies nonstop from Hamad International Airport (DOH) in Doha to Suvarnabhumi Airport (BKK) in Bangkok, the only airline on the route. The 5,280 km flight takes about 7 hours 5 minutes. It suits Qatar residents on holiday in Thailand and long-haul travellers from Europe or Africa connecting in Doha for Southeast Asia.

Baggage allowances by fare family on Qatar Airways

Qatar Airways is full-service: a checked bag, meals and entertainment are part of the economy fare. Allowances differ by fare family and route, so a passenger who started in Europe may have a different limit from someone booked only from Doha. Check the figure on your e-ticket before packing.

Red Line from West Bay or Msheireb to the airport

The Doha Metro Red Line has a station at the terminal, a short indoor walk from departures. From West Bay, the Corniche or Msheireb, the Red Line is the simplest way to the airport, and Msheireb is where the Green and Gold lines meet it. The line runs about 40 km from Lusail in the north to Al Wakra in the south. Taxis are easy to find for late departures.

TDAC and visa-free entry for Qatari citizens

Every foreign passenger files the Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC) before landing. It is free on tdac.immigration.go.th, opens three days before arrival, and has been required since 1 May 2025. It does not replace a visa.

Qatari citizens are on Thailand's 30-day visa-exemption list, which replaced the 60-day scheme on 15 September 2026. Residents of Qatar travelling on other passports should check their own category on the Thai e-Visa portal or on our Thailand visa page.

Train from SAT-1 to immigration at Suvarnabhumi

Large aircraft from the Gulf often park at SAT-1, the satellite concourse. An automated train runs through a tunnel of about one kilometre to the main terminal in about three minutes, then you walk to immigration and baggage.

Suvarnabhumi lies about 25 km east of central Bangkok. The Airport Rail Link reaches Phaya Thai in about 27 minutes and meets the BTS Skytrain; Makkasan links to the MRT Blue Line. Metered taxis and Grab wait outside arrivals. On a budget, the S1 bus runs to Sanam Luang for 60 baht between 06:00 and 17:00, and bus 389 goes to Pattaya from Exit 8 on the first floor between 10:00 and 18:00 for 130 baht.

If a domestic low-cost flight leaves from Don Mueang, minibus 555 crosses between the airports from 06:30 to 20:00 for up to 60 baht. Don Mueang also has the SRT Red Line to Krung Thep Aphiwat Central Terminal.

Dhaka via Bangkok or nonstop from Doha

The Dhaka flights on Biman, US-Bangla and Thai Airways leave from Suvarnabhumi (see Bangkok to Dhaka flights). Doha also has its own nonstop flights to Bangladesh: see Doha to Dhaka flights.
