In short

Philippine Airlines, Thai Airways International, Cebu Pacific and Philippines AirAsia fly nonstop from Ninoy Aquino International Airport (MNL) in Manila to Bangkok. The 2,187 km flight takes about 3 hours 15 minutes. Filipino and Thai airlines both compete on it, which keeps fares competitive for holidaymakers, overseas workers and business travellers.

Cebu Pacific and AirAsia also land at Don Mueang

A number of airlines land at Suvarnabhumi (BKK). Cebu Pacific and Philippines AirAsia also fly to Don Mueang (DMK). The low-cost fares cover a cabin bag only, so add checked baggage when you book; Philippine Airlines and Thai Airways include it.

Ninoy Aquino terminal changes from 29 March 2026

Check your departure terminal before heading to the airport. Assignments at Ninoy Aquino International changed on 29 March 2026, when the international flights of AirAsia Philippines and AirAsia Berhad moved from Terminal 3 to Terminal 1. Traffic around Pasay is heavy, so allow plenty of time from Makati or Quezon City.

Philippine immigration also runs eTravel for departing passengers. Registration is free on etravel.gov.ph or the eGov PH app, and the official FAQ allows it within the 72 hours before departure.

TDAC and visa-free entry for Philippine passports

Every non-Thai passenger files the Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC) before landing. It is free on tdac.immigration.go.th and opens three days before arrival.

Philippine passport holders are on Thailand's 30-day visa-exemption list, which replaced the 60-day scheme on 15 September 2026. Other nationalities should check their category on the Thai e-Visa portal or on our Thailand visa page.

Rail Link, Grab or bus S1 from Suvarnabhumi

Suvarnabhumi lies about 25 km east of central Bangkok. The Airport Rail Link reaches Phaya Thai in about 27 minutes and meets the BTS Skytrain; Makkasan links to the MRT Blue Line. Metered taxis and Grab wait outside arrivals. The S1 bus goes to Sanam Luang for 60 baht between 06:00 and 17:00.

Buses A1 and A2 or the SRT Red Line from Don Mueang

Don Mueang is north of the city. The A1 bus runs via BTS Chatuchak to Mo Chit 2 from 06:50 to 23:59, and the A2 via Chatuchak to Victory Monument from 05:00 to 22:00, each for 30 baht from Gate 6 of the international terminal. The SRT Red Line runs from the airport to Krung Thep Aphiwat Central Terminal, where it meets the MRT Blue Line; scheduled trains run from about 05:00 to 23:45.

Minibus 555 for the Dhaka flights from Suvarnabhumi

The Dhaka flights on Biman, US-Bangla and Thai Airways leave from Suvarnabhumi (see Bangkok to Dhaka flights). From Don Mueang, minibus 555 crosses to Suvarnabhumi between 06:30 and 20:00 for up to 60 baht; allow well over an hour for the road and a new check-in.
