Chattogram to Doha flight guide
Flights from Chattogram to Doha run nonstop from Shah Amanat International Airport (CGP) to Hamad International Airport (DOH) on Bangladeshi airlines, Biman Bangladesh Airlines and US-Bangla Airlines. The 4,091 km crossing takes about 5 hours 40 minutes. For anyone from the Chattogram region with a job waiting in Qatar, it means leaving from Patenga with no bus or train up to Dhaka first.
Both carriers allow 30 kg of checked luggage and a 7 kg cabin bag, so the choice usually comes down to the travel date. On Biman you get a widebody Dreamliner cabin, which makes a difference on a flight of nearly six hours.
Paperwork comes first. Your work visa, family visa or other entry permit has to be issued before you check in, and the passport should have at least six months left on it.
You arrive at Hamad International, which took over from the old Doha airport in 2014. A Doha Metro Red Line station at the terminal runs into the city centre, and regional buses also stop outside. Many workers are met by company transport.
The Doha Metro station at Hamad International runs every day of the week and connects the airport with the main business and cultural districts. Last-train times are shown on the station monitors and on the Doha Metro website, which matters if you land late.

Booking
Biman's 787-8 is laid out with 24 business seats and 247 in economy. Business sits in its own cabin at the front, and on a crossing of almost six hours it is worth pricing if you want to arrive rested for the first day at work.
Three. Qatar keeps UTC+3 and Bangladesh UTC+6, and neither changes for summer. Ask your company driver to wait from the landing time shown in Doha time, which is what your ticket prints for arrival.
Prices & payment
Yes. BMET began offering its immigration clearance service in Chattogram in 2016, so most workers from the region no longer travel to the capital just for the card. Bring the employer documents and your Qatar visa, and finish the process well before the flight date.
General
It does. The airport branch opened in December 2019 and joins the Red Line, which carries on into the city without a change. It works best with light luggage; with two full suitcases, a taxi or company transport is less tiring.
Yes, on Biman, which links Doha with Sylhet as well as Chattogram. That suits workers whose family has moved, or who want to visit relatives in the north-east first. You would buy it as a separate one-way or a multi-city fare.
Shah Amanat is one of Biman's secondary hubs after Dhaka, and the Gulf routes from the port city carry large numbers of workers. A twin-aisle aircraft fits that demand better than a 737 and gives the airline more hold space for heavy luggage.
Getting there
Yes. Biman's own programme, running since November 2013, records every Biman sector, including this one. Enrol online before your first trip and give the number at booking. If you fly US-Bangla instead, ask that airline how its own rewards work.
Biman also flies to Doha from Dhaka and Sylhet, and US-Bangla from Dhaka. If both Chattogram nonstops are full around Eid, a seat from the capital plus a domestic hop or the train there is the usual fix, ideally on one ticket.
No. Hamad was built about 5 km east of the former Doha International and replaced it in 2014. Workers who last came before then will find a much bigger terminal, with new concourses D and E added in March 2025.
Visa & documents
Carry your passport, a printed copy of the Qatar visa, the BMET smart card and your employer's contact details. Keep them together in one folder so you can show them quickly at Shah Amanat and again at Hamad without digging through a packed bag.
