Not if you are heading straight to Makkah for Umrah. Jeddah is not a miqat; it lies inside the boundary, so passing the line in ordinary clothes and changing after landing breaks the rule. Pilgrims who plan to stay in Jeddah first have different options to discuss with a scholar.

Yes. Visits to Al-Rawdah Al-Sharifah are allotted by time slot through the Nusuk app. If your Umrah includes a few days in Madinah, reserve the slot as soon as your dates are confirmed; leaving it until you arrive risks a full calendar.
Getting there
Yes. A short rail branch serves Terminal 1, with a station that opened on 11 December 2019, and Haramain trains run at up to 300 km/h towards Makkah. It works well for independent pilgrims; groups with coaches booked by their agency usually travel by road instead.
Three hours. Saudi Arabia keeps UTC+3 and Bangladesh UTC+6, with no summer change on either side. Prayer times in Makkah follow local sunrise and sunset, so reset your phone on landing to avoid confusion.
Visa & documents
Since August 2025, Nusuk Umrah has let people outside Saudi Arabia apply online and pay electronically, without a middleman. Many Chattogram families still use agencies because they bundle the hotel, transport and flight, but the direct route is now open.
Yes. The Nusuk app, run by the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah, issues the Umrah permit you need. Install it and sign in before leaving Bangladesh, since sorting accounts on arrival with a weak connection is frustrating.
