Chattogram to Muscat flight guide
Flights from Chattogram to Muscat run nonstop from Shah Amanat International Airport (CGP) to Muscat International Airport (MCT) at Seeb on several airlines: SalamAir, Biman Bangladesh Airlines and US-Bangla Airlines. The 3,429 km flight takes about 5 hours 20 minutes. Oman has drawn workers from the Chattogram region for decades, and they make up most of the cabin.
SalamAir, Oman's low-cost airline, flies the most often. Its Airbus A321neo operates OV402 daily at 08:40, landing at 12:00, and OV404 at 22:55 six days a week, arriving at 02:15. Biman puts a wide-body Boeing 777-300ER on BG121 at 09:30 on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and US-Bangla flies BS321 at 22:05 on Sundays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
On SalamAir the checked allowance is 20 kg. Biman and US-Bangla give 30 kg, and all of them keep cabin bags to 7 kg. Muscat is two hours behind Bangladesh.
Do not book the ticket until the visa is in hand. Nobody should fly to Oman before the Omani authorities have issued it, and the passport needs at least six months to run.
Muscat International is at Seeb, roughly 32 km from the old capital, and its present terminal opened in 2018. Mwasalat airport buses run around the clock, with route A1 heading to the Ruwi bus station, which helps on the 02:15 SalamAir arrival. Metered taxis are booked at counters in the arrivals hall.
The route is active this month. Muscat International Airport's own flight board for 3 to 5 November 2026 lists SalamAir flights OV401, OV402 and OV403 on the Chattogram route, alongside SalamAir, US-Bangla, Oman Air and Biman flights on the Dhaka route and SalamAir to Sylhet.

Prices & payment
Yes. The government, together with Oman Air, took 90% of SalamAir on 26 March 2026, but the airline still sells low-cost fares. Expect to pay separately for extras beyond the 20 kg checked bag your fare includes.
Yes. Bangladeshis leaving for work abroad need BMET registration, biometrics and immigration clearance, which the bureau has offered in Chattogram since 2016. Do it after the Omani visa is issued and before you pay for the ticket.
General
It does. Biman's 777-300ER carries 35 business seats in front of 384 economy seats. If you want more room for a five-hour trip, that is the cabin to price; ask SalamAir and US-Bangla directly what they offer at the front.
For business and errands, yes. Ruwi is the older commercial district, the Sheraton Oman stands there, and the A1 airport bus ends at its bus station. For beaches, look instead at Shatti Al Qurum or the Al Bustan area.
The building opened on 18 March 2018, with a first phase designed for up to 20 million passengers a year. It sits between the old and new runways at Seeb, and Oman Air and SalamAir both use it as their base.
Yes. Salalah is a focus city for SalamAir, which links it with Muscat, so workers posted in Dhofar can connect at Seeb. Booking both legs together keeps your bag checked through and avoids buying two separate fares.
Timing & weather
Yes. Oman keeps UTC+4 throughout the year and Bangladesh UTC+6. Phones update automatically on landing, but set the time on any manual watch before you meet an employer's driver at arrivals.
Getting there
Mwasalat route 8 stops at the airport on its run between Al Mouj and Al Khuwair, while route A1 heads for Ruwi. Both run day and night at fixed intervals, which helps if your flight lands in the small hours.
Two of the hotels under Where to stay are a short hop from the terminal in Seeb, and the ibis in Ghala is a lower-cost choice on the same side of the city. All of them spare you the drive into central Muscat after a long day.
SalamAir, Biman and US-Bangla all fly to Muscat from Dhaka, and US-Bangla also links it with Sylhet. That gives families in other districts a choice of starting points, and a backup when the Chattogram flights are full.
