Scoot flies nonstop from Mae Fah Luang Chiang Rai International Airport (CEI) in northern Thailand to Singapore Changi Airport (SIN). The 2,115 km flight takes about 3 hours 10 minutes. It is the only direct link from Chiang Rai to Singapore, used by visitors leaving the far north and the Golden Triangle without backtracking to Bangkok or Chiang Mai.
Scoot's five weekly flights since 1 January 2026
Scoot started Singapore to Chiang Rai on 1 January 2026. The first flight, TR670, landed at Mae Fah Luang at 18:50 and was welcomed by the Tourism Authority of Thailand. The route has five weekly flights on the 112-seat Embraer E190-E2. Departure times differ by day, with early-morning services on Tuesdays and Saturdays. Chiang Rai is Scoot's seventh destination in Thailand and adds to its Chiang Mai flights.
As a low-cost airline, Scoot includes only a cabin bag in the basic fare. Add checked luggage and meals online.
Mae Fah Luang airport, 8 km north of town
Mae Fah Luang Chiang Rai International Airport is about 8 km north of the town centre, reached by Road 5023 from Phaholyothin Road, the Chiang Rai to Mae Chan highway. A taxi takes around 15 to 20 minutes from town. Airports of Thailand advises arriving at least two hours before departure, which matters on the early-morning Scoot flights. One terminal handles domestic and international flights.
Terminal 1, MRT or a metered taxi
Scoot uses Terminal 1. From Changi Airport MRT station, ride to Tanah Merah and change to the East West Line, or to Expo for the Downtown Line; the first train leaves at 05:31 on weekdays. Taxis take about 30 minutes to the city for S$25 to S$45 on the meter, plus an airport surcharge of S$6 or S$8.
Free SG Arrival Card within three days
All travellers must submit the free SG Arrival Card on the ICA website within three days before arrival. Visa rules depend on nationality; see our Singapore visa page.
Flying north from Bangkok to start the trip
