Singapore Airlines' 787-10 and 737-8 swaps
Singapore Airlines flies two Boeing types here: a 787-10 with 337 seats on some flights and a 737-8 with 154 on others, and it can swap them at short notice. Biman uses a Boeing 737-800 with 162 seats, and US-Bangla also flies the route nonstop. All of them show 30 kg of checked baggage and 7 kg in the cabin, so the allowance need not decide your choice of airline.
Singapore visas and work-pass letters
Singapore's visa rules vary by nationality. Bangladeshi passport holders need a Singapore visa or a work-pass approval letter before boarding; other travellers should check their passport with Singapore's Immigration and Checkpoints Authority. Every arriving traveller must file the SG Arrival Card online within three days before arrival. It is free, so ignore websites that charge to submit it.
Skytrain and MRT at Changi
Changi sits about 24 km east of the city centre and runs four main terminals; Terminal 5 is still under construction. The free Skytrain links Terminals 1, 2 and 3, and Terminal 4 has its own free shuttle.
The MRT station between Terminals 2 and 3 is on a short branch that calls at Expo and ends at Tanah Merah, where you change to the East West Line for town. Taxis from the arrival halls carry an airport surcharge, but a taxi or Grab car is simpler with heavy bags. Several of the eight public bus routes from the airport carry on to Terminal 4.
With a spare hour, Jewel, the glass-roofed complex joined to Terminals 1, 2 and 3, is worth a walk for the Rain Vortex, a 40 m indoor waterfall. It opened in April 2019. Singapore keeps UTC+8, two hours ahead of Dhaka.
