Dubai to Phuket flight guide
Dubai to Phuket is a nonstop Emirates flight of 4,927 km and about 6 hours 40 minutes from Dubai International Airport (DXB) to Phuket International Airport (HKT). It takes UAE residents and Emirates' connecting passengers from Europe and Africa straight to Thailand's largest island.
Emirates is full-service and the only airline flying the route nonstop. Economy fares normally include a checked bag, meals and drinks. For passengers connecting in Dubai on one ticket, bags are checked through to Phuket.
Emirates uses Terminal 3. The Dubai Metro Red Line stops at Terminals 1 and 3 and runs from 5 am to midnight Monday to Thursday and Saturday, to 1 am on Friday night, and from 8 am on Sunday. Taxis serve every terminal at all hours. Plan for a taxi if your departure is early on a Sunday morning.
Phuket International Airport is at the northern tip of the island. Most hotels in Patong, Kata and Karon are around an hour away.
Airports of Thailand lists the Airport Bus Express to Patong Beach via Thalang and Kathu from 8 am to 8 pm, the hourly airport bus to Phuket Town from 8:15 am to 8:15 pm, the Phuket Smart Bus from beside the domestic terminal to Kamala, Patong, Karon, Kata and Rawai, and shared vans to Patong, Kata and Karon. Car rental counters are on the first floor, and an airport shuttle can be booked in advance. Overnight flights from Dubai usually land in the morning, often before the buses start.
All non-Thai nationals must file the Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC) online at tdac.immigration.go.th within the three days before arrival. It replaced the paper TM6 card on 1 May 2025. Royal Thai Embassy guidance says immigration will not process an arrival without it, and that it can be submitted before a visa is issued. The card is not a visa; see our Thailand visa page for the rule that applies to your passport.
Thailand is three hours ahead of the UAE all year. An overnight flight from Dubai lands in Phuket in the morning local time. Book the hotel from the previous night or ask about early check-in, so you can rest after landing.
Phuket's dry season, about November to April, has the calmest seas and the most sunshine, and it is the busiest time on the route. The UAE summer holidays fall in Phuket's wet season, from about May to October, when showers are frequent but hotels cost less.
Keep the TDAC confirmation and your hotel address on your phone for immigration. Withdraw a little Thai baht at the airport for taxis and markets. If you have questions about getting from the airport, the Airports of Thailand call centre answers on 1722.
On the return, the last Airport Bus Express leaves Patong for the airport at 6:30 pm, and the drive takes about an hour, so evening flights need a taxi. Check in at HKT's international terminal about three hours before departure. Arriving at Terminal 3 in Dubai, the Red Line metro runs until midnight on most nights and until 1 am on Friday night.
Ferries run from Phuket to Phi Phi and Krabi, and domestic flights reach Bangkok and Chiang Mai. Suvarnabhumi in Bangkok has flights across Asia, including those on our Bangkok to Dhaka flights page. Dubai's own routes include Dubai to Dhaka flights.

About 6 hours 40 minutes in the air. The two airports are 4,927 km apart in a straight line; actual times vary a little by airline, aircraft and wind.
Separate international and domestic terminals, side by side. International flights such as this one use the international side, so allow time for immigration on arrival.
Phuket International Airport is at the northern end of the island, so the west-coast beaches are a fair drive away: allow around an hour to Patong or Kata by taxi or minivan, more in traffic. The Phuket Smart Bus runs from the airport down the west coast beaches.
Not before 8 am on Sundays, when the Red Line opens. Take a taxi for earlier departures.
Take a taxi, a shared public van, or the Phuket Smart Bus, which leaves from beside the domestic terminal and stops at Karon and Kata.
